CUSAT BTech

Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) is an autonomous University established in 1971 and has three campuses in Kerala. It is a state-owned government university located in Kochi, Kerala. It is established by the State Legislature Act of Kerala. It was renamed Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) in 1986 and it endeavours to promote undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in technology, industry, management, commerce and social sciences. Admissions to the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes will be offered at the University through the Common Admission Test (CAT).

CUSAT BTech Application Process 2022

Candidates can apply for CUSAT BTech admissions by following the steps given below.

• Candidates must go through the official website of the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) to apply for BTech admissions.
• Candidates have to click on the New Registration and should activate the link to create the user account.
• Now, candidates should start registration and fill out the application form with personal, and academic information and other mandatory details.
• Candidates should upload their photograph and signature and choose the UG programme.
• Now, candidates should verify all the information provided by them and proceed to the application form fee payment if everything is correct.
• Candidates have to finish and validate their application form for BTech admissions by completing the fee payment.

CUSAT BTech Selection Process 2022

The selection of students for BTech and BTech Lateral Entry admissions at CUSAT is given below.

BTech Regular

• Allocation of seats to the BTech programmes at Cochin University of Science and Technology will be based on the CAT score and is conducted by the Cochin University of Science and Technology.
• Seats for BTech programmes at CUSAT will be allocated to the students based on the merit list, seat availability and by considering other factors.

BTech Lateral Entry

• The lateral Entrance Test (LET) will be conducted to select students for BTech (Lateral Entry) programmes at Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT).
• The CUSAT decides the remedial courses for the short-listed candidates based on their rank in the LET.

CUSAT CAT

• The CUSAT CAT for BTech admissions contains multiple-choice questions.
• The CUSAT CAT contains 3 sections and 200 questions.
• Candidates will get 3 hours for answering all the questions in the test.

CUSAT BTech Fee Structure

The total fee for all the Self-financing BTech Programmes at CUSAT for the state merit list is Rs. 27,965. The information about the fee is provided below in detail.

Note

• The fee mentioned above is not for SC/ST category and the fee for them for all the BTech programmes except BTech in Marine Engineering is Rs. 1,350 for State and All India Merit List.
• The fee for SC/ST category candidates for BTech Marine Engineering is 13,410.

Hostel Fee

• The hostel fee at Cochin University of Science and Technology is just about 150 rupees per month while the mess fee is around Rs. 900/- per month.

CUSAT BTech Eligibility Criteria 2022

The eligibility requirements for BTech admissions at CUSAT are given below.

BTech (Regular)

• Candidates must have passed plus 2 examinations of Kerala or any other exam accepted as equivalent with it with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the optional subjects with an aggregate of at least 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics when put together.
• SC and ST students of Kerala are eligible to apply for BTech admissions at CUSAT if they secure a minimum pass mark in the qualifying exam.
• SEBC category students of Kerala are eligible for a 5% relaxation in the minimum marks required in the qualifying exam.
• For BTech in Instrumentation and Control Engineering, the minimum marks required in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics altogether is 60% while it is 55% for Mathematics.

BTech Marine Engineering

• Students must have passed Class XII of Kerala or any other exam considered equivalent to it with Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and English as separate subjects with an average in PCM of not less than 60% and 50% in Mathematics alone.
• Candidates must have passed English with an aggregate of 50% marks in Class X or XII.
• Candidates' age should not be more than 25 as of 1^st September 2022.
• At the time of admission, students have to produce a physical and eye fitness certificate from a medical officer approved by the DG shipping.

BTech Lateral Entry

• All the students must have passed a 3-year Diploma in Technology or Engineering from the Technical Board of Education recognized by the Department of Technical Education, Kerala with an aggregate of at least 60% marks.
• Students of the SC/ST category of Kerala can apply if they secure pass marks in the qualifying exam.
• SEBC students of Kerala can avail of a 5% relaxation in the minimum marks required in the qualifying exam.
• The age of the candidates should not be more than 25 years as of 1^st July 2022.
