Delhi Technological University was established in the year 1941 under the name Delhi College of Engineering. It was officially affiliated to the University of Delhi in 1952 and consequently started degree programmes. In July of 2009, it was renamed to Delhi Technological University. Currently, it is one of the 3 pioneering universities of the government of NCT Delhi. The foundation of the university is its 6 core values which are Integrity, Compassion, Commitment, Creativity, Collaboration and so students don’t just develop management skills but also develop their business plans. Here the MBA course is a 2 years course where the students get to choose a specialization in Marketing, Financial, and Human resources, Supply Chain, Information Technology and Knowledge& Technology. There are only 150 seats available for their MBA course.

Application process

Candidates need to fill out the application form available online on the CMAC admissions portalhttps://sangam.nsut.ac.in/adm/cmac/signup to register themselves for the MBA program at DTU. Please note the application process is an online process, the form cannot be filled offline. The application process to register yourself for the MBA programme at DTU is given below:

Step I: Registration: First you have to sign up on the admissions portal. You have to fill in your name and your email id and create a password especially for the admissions portal

Step II: Personal details: You have to fill in your and your parent's details as asked by the dashboard. Ensure you have a passport-size photograph ready to upload.

Step III: Education Qualifications: Here you have to share your past academic record by uploading the required documents. The portal requires you to upload the following documents:

• Class 10th mark sheet and certificate
• Class 12th mark sheet and certificate
• Bachelor’s degree
• Entrance exam scorecard
• Caste certificate 
• Income certificate of parents (if required)
• Migration certificate
• Character certificate
• Transfer certificate

Step IV: Payment: The payment for the application process only happens online on the admissions dashboard. The application fee for the MBA in DTU for candidates from different categories is given here:

Admission Procedure:

Before applying for the university, candidates are required to attempt any of the following common entrance tests:

• CAT
• CMAT
• MAT

The selection process takes place in 3 rounds

Round I: Academic results

Candidates will be selected on the bases of their graduation percentage/CAT/CMAT/MAT results and those candidates with a higher score will be shortlisted. Priority will be given to candidates in the following order:

1. Candidates with a higher CAT score
2. Candidates with a higher MAT score
3. Candidates who have graduated with at least 60% and have one year of experience

Please note that in case there is a tie in the final merit list, the following criteria will be followed:

• The candidate with a higher CAT percentile shall be ranked higher
• In case the CAT percentile is the same, the candidate with a higher CMAT percentile will be ranked higher
• In case the CAT/CMAT percentiles are the same, the candidate with the higher MAT result will be ranked higher
• In case of the same MAT percentile, the candidate with more work experience will be ranked higher
• In case of the same work experience, the candidate with a higher aggregated percentage in their graduation will be ranked higher.
• In case of the same aggregated graduation percentage, the candidates shall be ranked according to their age

Round 2: Personal Interview: The shortlisted candidates must appear for a personal interview which will be conducted on campus. For the personal interview the candidates are required to carry the following documents:

• Print out the online application form signed by the candidate
• Degree and mark sheet of the qualifying exam
• Print out of CAT score card. Ensure you have your CAT login id and password for online verification
• Date of birth certificate as indicated on class X certificate

Round III: Spot admission round

This round is for those candidates whose name didn't appear in the Merit list. For this round the remaining candidates are required to go to the campus. Here the remaining vacant seats will be filled. Candidates will be selected based on their performance in their previous two rounds. The weightage for the final selections of the candidate is as follows:

The university has seats specially reserved for candidate from the ST/SC categories and for those from the economically weaker sections of society. The following table shows the distribution of seats in the MBA programme

Fee structure:

The total fee for the MBA programme at Delhi Technological university over 2 years is 4, 41,700. This will have to be in two instalments, one instalment for each year. The fee includes the tuition fee and and the following governmental components: Student Welfare fee, Facilities and service charges, Economically weaker section fund, Examination Fee and Premium amount for mediclaim of the student. The following table shows the distribution of the fee structure. Note the first instalment has to be paid at the time of provisional admission on the portal that will unlock on the admission dashboard after the candidate is under provisional admission.

DTU also has a hostel on campus as well. The total cost of the hostel for 4 months (Feb 2022 to May 2022) is Rs.8100. This fee is the same for both the boy's hostel and the girl's hostel. The cost of the hostel includes the maintenance fee, the electricity fee and many more. The following table shows the distribution of the hostel fee.

Eligibility Criteria:

Coming to the most important aspect of admission, the eligibility criteria of DTU. DTU's eligibility criteria is well curated since their MBA programme has only 150 seats. The following is the eligibility criteria for DTU:

1. Candidates who have completed their bachelor degree from a recognised university have a minimum of 60% aggregate or equivalent CGPA. Students from the STSC require a minimum of 50% to get admission in DTU.
2. A candidate who either has a good CATCMATMAT percentile or a graduation degree with one year work experience
3. Those students who are in the final year of their degree and are yet to give their final exams can also apply. These students must have a good CMATCATMAT percentile. They must also provide proof of their eligibility on a specific date to be declared by the CMAC.
