Jamia Hamdard was founded by the renowned physician - Late Janab Hakeem Abdul Hameed. The inauguration of Jamia Hamdard was done by Late Shri Rajiv Gandhi on 1st August 1989. Jamia Hamdard aims to encourage and progress the cause of higher education by means of advanced research and teaching.
The programs included in the Jamia Hamdard School of Management and Business Studies are Department of Management, Centre for Catering and Healthcare Management and Department of Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Management.
Jamia Hamdard – MBA Application Process 2022
Aspiring MBA candidates can apply to Jamia Hamdard for pursuing their higher studies.
The candidates are selected based on the scores obtained in the interview/qualifying exam/entrance test/other mode as approved by the qualified authority.
The application process involves selecting the candidates for admission based on the scores attained in the interview or qualifying exam or entrance test or any other mode as approved by the qualified authority. Here are some general details of the application process:
- The online admission portal shall be used for the acceptance of applications. If required, Jamia Hamdard reserves the right for accepting applications offline for some programs, subject to approval by the competent authority.
- In the case of programs of study that are governed by different councils, and regulatory bodies, the admission process shall be based on specific guidelines.
- The competent authority of Jamia Hamdard is authorized to take the most suitable decision with respect to admission.
Jamia Hamdard – Reservation Policy
According to the reservation policy followed by Jamia Hamdard i) 50% of the total number of seats in all programs are reserved for Indian Muslims and ii) 50% of the total number of seats in all programs are filled by open merit.
It should be noted that both of these points are applicable for admission in all programs except MBBS/MD/MS.
Here are details about the reservation policy of Jamia Hamdard that are applicable for all admissions apart from MBBS/MD/MS offered by HIMSR:
- 50% of the total number of seats in all programs shall be held in reserve for Indian Muslims.
- 50% of the total number of seats in all programs shall be filled up by open merit.
Both the above points are based on the subject of completing the short-listing criteria for each course.
Out of the above 2 points:
- One seat in every program wherein the total seats are more than ten shall be held in reserve for the wards of presently serving employees of Jamia Hamdard.
- For courses with seats being ten or lesser, the seats shall be clubbed/merged and based on that the reservation shall be offered to the wards of Jamia Hamdard employees.
- 10% weightage in scores of interview/entrance examination/qualifying exam shall be given to the following categories:
- Candidates who completed their qualifying examination from Jamia Hamdard itself.
- Candidates who completed their qualifying examination from Hamdard Public School, New Delhi.
- Candidates who completed their qualifying examination from Rabea Girls School, Delhi.
- Applicants who cleared the qualifying exam from Jamia Hamdard.
- Applicants who cleared the qualifying exam from Hamdard Public School, New Delhi.
- Applicants who cleared the qualifying exam from Rabea Girls School, Delhi.
- A weightage of 5% scores attained in interview/entrance examination/qualifying exam shall be given to States/National level sports person.
- In all the courses/programs, 5% of seats shall be held in reserve for physically challenged/physically handicapped candidates who fulfil the criteria.
- Candidates who completed the qualifying examination from the Centre for Distance and Online Education of Jamia Hamdard shall be given additional 4% weightage in interview/entrance examination/qualifying examination scores.
- 4% weightage in the scores of interview/entrance examination/qualifying exam shall be given to applicants who cleared the qualifying examination from the Centre for Distance and Online Education of Jamia Hamdard.
- 5% weightage of marks attained in interview/entrance examination/qualifying exam whichever is applicable shall be given to ST/SC candidates.
- Few seats of each course may get filled up with the nomination of eligible applicants by Jamia Hamdard's competent authority.
- In all courses with exception of a few specific courses, 2 seats shall be made available for supernumerary quota in Jamia Hamdard for admission of students coming from Jammu and Kashmir.
- The supernumerary seats may be offered in all courses as per the notification by the Indian Government at any time.

Jamia Hamdard – MBA Selection Process 2022
The candidates shall be selected based on the eligibility criteria/exemptions that are given below. The selected candidates would be then called for group discussion/personal interview at Jamia Hamdard Campus/online mode depending on the conditions at that time.
In the case of candidates who are NRI/sponsored seats the scores for MAT/CMAT/XAT/GMAT/ATMA/CAT are not required. The admission for these candidates shall be based on their performance in group discussion/personal interviews.
Jamia Hamdard – MBA Eligibility 2022
Here are details about the eligibility criteria for taking admission to the MBA program at Jamia Hamdard:
- The candidate should hold Bachelor’s degree in any field with at least 50% cumulative marks or 5 CGPA on a 10-point scale.
- Final-year bachelor's students are also eligible for applying. The admission of these students are subject to the availability of a provisional degree/final mark sheet. These candidates are required to submit cumulative marks up to the fourth semester in case of three years UG program. The candidates should be having at least 50% cumulative marks or 5 CGPA on a 10-point scale.
- Applicants who have appeared and possess a valid score card for any National level aptitude test such as CAT/MAT/XAT/ATMA/CMAT/GMAT/GPAT.
Exemptions from the aptitude test
- After graduation, the individuals who are mid-career professionals with two years of work experience.
- Candidates who have completed at least 4 years undergraduate program with a cumulative score of at least 50% total marks or 5 CGPA on a 10-point scale. Applicants in the final year of 4 years graduation program have to submit mark sheet up to 6th semester.
- Candidates who obtained first division in at least 2 out of the following three examination - 10th, 12th and Under graduation. The candidates should also have obtained second division in the third examination. Th cumulative score obtain din graduation should be at least 50% total marks or 5 CGPA on a 10-point scale otherwise they won’t be called for the interview.
- Applicants who have done undergraduate programs of at least four years or above programs such as B Tech. The candidates should have obtained a cumulative score of at least 50% cumulative marks or 5 CGPA on a 10-point scale. The candidates who are in their final year of under graduation with four years or above program are required to submit a mark sheet up to the 6th semester.
- Applicants who have attained first division in at least 2 out of 3 examinations – 10th, 12th and Under graduation and second division in the third examination. It should be noted that applicants would not be called for group discussion and personal interviews in case they fail to obtain at least 50% cumulative marks or 5 CGPA on a 10-point scale in their graduation.
Jamia Hamdard – MBA Fee Structure
The total fees for MBA at Jamia Hamdard is 4,80,000.

Fee concession, Scholarships and Fellowships
Jamia Hamdard has a comprehensive program for helping aspiring students in various ways. These include the Student's Aid Fund, fee concession based on the student's academic performance, financial assistance to the students and multiple different scholarships and fellowships.
1. SAF, that's is, Students' Aid Fund aims to financially help the students in its need. If a student's parents or guardians have an annual income lesser than 4.5 lakhs then the student can take assistance from SAF. The assistance provided is subject to availability and is based on the student's performance in previous examinations. Jamia Hamdard allocates the budget under SAF and according to the conditions of the University, assistance is provided.
Fee Concession for Indian Students
The applicability of fee concession depends on the student's academic performance in the specific course. Fee concession becomes applicable after the student has cleared the first year or the second semester examinations, that is, the student should be in at least the third semester of the second year of the course. The candidates who fulfil the criteria for fee concession ought to apply latest by September, 30 of their academic session.
a. The criteria for a 1.50% concession of annual tuition fee are applicable for up to ten per cent of students in every course and are subject to merit-cum-means. The criteria for the same are as follows:
- The student should have 75% attendance in the specific academic year for which the concession is being applied,
- The student must have secured at least 90% cumulative marks in the previous year's academic examination.
- The student should have cleared all the subjects in the primary attempt.
- The total income of parents from all the sources ought to not exceed 4.5 lakhs annually.
- The certificate depicting students' good academic performance should be shared. The Head of the concerned department should verify the certificate. The Dean of the School should endorse the certificate shared by the student.
b. The criteria for a 2.25% concession of annual tuition fee are applicable for up to ten per cent of students in every course and are subject to merit-cum-means. The criteria for the same are as follows:
- The student should have 75% attendance in the specific academic year for which the concession is being applied.
- The student must have secured at least 80% cumulative marks in the previous year's academic examination.
- The student should have cleared all the subjects in the primary attempt.
- The total income of parents from all the sources ought to not exceed 4.5 lakhs annually.
- The certificate depicting students' good academic performance should be shared. The Head of the concerned department should verify the certificate. The Dean of the School should endorse the certificate shared by the student.
NOTE: Fee concession may be granted by the competent authority in those exceptional cases that deem to be fit. For instance, loss in a natural disaster, parents' death, death of a single earning member in the family etcetera.
c. Annual tuition fee concession of 50% for two EW students from every course subject to merit-cum-means.
Guidelines for the selection of Foreign Nationals for the grant of partial fee concession or financial assistance from the Students' Aid Fund
The meritorious Foreign National students are given provision for fee concession based on the Students' Aid Fund. The criteria for the same are given below:
1. Fee concession becomes applicable after the student has cleared the first vear or the second-semester examinations, that is, the student should be in at least the third semester of the second year of the course.
2. The candidates who fulfil the criteria for fee concession ought to apply latest by September, 30 of their academic session.
3. The criteria for a 25% concession of annual tuition fee are applicable for those students who fulfil the following criteria:
- The student should have 75% attendance in the specific academic year for which the concession is being applied.
- The student must have secured at least 85% cumulative marks in the previous year's academic examination. In the case of the semester system, the cumulative marks for both semesters shall be considered.
- The student should have cleared all the subjects in the primary attempt.
- The certificate depicting students' good academic performance should be shared. The Head of the concerned department should verify the certificate. The Dean of the School should endorse the certificate shared by the student.
4. The criteria for a 15% concession of the annual tuition fee are applicable for those students who fulfil the following criteria:
- The student should have 75% attendance in the specific academic year for which the concession is being applied.
- The student must have secured at least 65% cumulative marks in the previous year's academic examination. In the case of the semester system, the cumulative marks for both semesters shall be considered.
- The student should have cleared all the subjects in the primary attempt.
- The certificate depicting students' good academic performance should be shared. The Head of the concerned department should verify the certificate. The Dean of the School should endorse the certificate shared by the student.
5. It should be noted that students belonging to SAARC countries who have received the scholarship once shall not be considered for other scholarships.
