The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee is a public technical university located in Roorkee, Uttarakhand. It was founded as a College of Civil Engineering in 1847 in British India by Lieutenant Governor of North-Western Provinces, James Thomson to train officers and surveyors employed in the construction of the Ganges Canal. The Department of Management Studies of IIT, Roorkee offers a 2-year MBA programme. It is designed to provide quality education to the students that cater for the changing needs of the industry.

IIT Roorkee MBA Application Process 2022
Candidates should follow the steps given below while filling out the online application form for the MBA programme.
- Go through the website - https://www.iitr.ac.in/ACAD/pages/Admission_to_M_B_A__Programmes.html.
- Click on the MBA Admissions 2022-2024 Apply Online.
- Register yourself by providing all the necessary information.
- Complete the application form for the MBA programme by giving the requisite information.
- Pay the application fee by clicking on "Proceed for Payment". The application fee can be paid online only using net banking, and debit/credit card facilities.
- Download the filled application form for the MBA programme and take a printout for future reference.
- You will receive one application ID number after submitting the application form. This ID number should be used in all future correspondence.

EMBA
The Department of Management Studies (DOMS), IIT Roorkee is going to start a two-year MBA degree programme for working professionals from November 2022. The application process for the EMBA programme will commence soon.
IIT Roorkee MBA Selection Process 2022
MBA
- The selection of candidates for the MBA programme will be based on the CAT 2021 or IIT JEE Graduates with a 7.0 CGPA or above. These candidates can apply for the MBA programme at IIT Roorkee by visiting the official website.
- The final merit for providing admission to the MBA programme will be based on their aggregate performance in the CAT 2021, followed by an Interview and their Work Experience.
- Final-year candidates with relevant degrees who completed the requirements of the qualifying examination can also apply. Candidates can appear for the interview in case of non-availability of the final examination mark sheet.
- Candidates will be allowed to appear for the interview based on their aggregate results up to the pre-final in which the aggregate percentage must not be less than specified.
- However, these candidates have to submit proof of being passed the qualifying examination with the required percentage or CGPA by 30th September 2022.

EMBA
The programme fee is Rs. 11 Lakhs payable in two instalments yearly.
IIT Roorkee MBA Eligibility 2022
- Students must have a valid CAT 2021 score and a professional qualification equivalent to that of the University Degree in any discipline with an aggregate of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PD) from a UGC-recognized university or institute.
- Final-year students are also eligible to apply for MBA programmes at IIT Roorkee. These candidates will be admitted provisionally (if selected) and they have to meet all the requirements for a qualifying degree with a minimum percentage or its equivalent by the specified date that will be intimated later to confirm their admission.
- The percentage will be considered based on aggregate marks or CGPA in the qualifying degree examination, Or
- IIT graduates who wish to pursue an MBA at IIT Roorkee and have a CGPA of 7.0 or more on a 10-point scale in Graduation are exempted from CAT 2021 requirement.
Executive MBA
- Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree with an aggregate of at least 65% marks (60% for SC/ST) with four years of relevant experience after graduation.
Further, he/she must fulfil any one condition of the following.
- Graduation must be completed from a University (Within the top 500 NIRF according to the latest data) or any Foreign University (Within 1000 QS World Rankings).
- The experience must be from a company having a turnover of more than 300 crores continuously for the last 3 years, state/central government departments, or a reputed NGO having Global or PAN India operations.
- Also, a valid CAT/MAT/XAT score.
