Anna University is a state public university named after C. N. Annadurai, the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and was established in 1978. It comprises 4 colleges - the College of Engineering, Guindy Campus, the Madras Institute of Technology, the Alagappa College of Technology and the School of Architecture and Planning. According to the Anna University Amendment Act 2021, the former Anna University became an affiliating University by taking all the Engineering Colleges under its wings. Anna University BTech Application Process 2022

Candidates should apply for the TNEA to secure admission to the BE/BTech programmes at Anna University. The application process for TNEA is provided below.

Step 1 - Registration

• Candidates have to visit the official website of the TNEA and enter their name, email ID, religion, community, etc to register themselves.
• Candidates will receive an OTP to their registered mobile number. After the submission of OTP, they have to press the registration button.
• Candidates will receive their user ID after the successful completion of the TNEA registration.

Step 2 - Login

• Candidates should log in after receiving their login credentials to fill out the TNEA application form.

Step 3 - Personal Information

• Candidates have to submit valid personal information such as nationality, community, category, etc in the TNEA application form.

Step 4 - Special Reservation Information

• Here, candidates should fill out the information related to reservations such as ex-servicemen, sports and PwD.

Step 5 - Application Fee

• In this step, candidates should pay the TNEA application fee through online mode using a Credit/Debit Card or Net Banking.
• Candidates can pay the fee in the form of DD and it will be accepted at TNEA facilitation centres.

Step 6 - Scholarship Details

• Candidates are required to enter scholarship details and press the "Save and Preview" button.

Step 7 - School of Study Details

• Here, candidates have to enter their study information in detail from Class VII to Class XII. Candidates have to proceed further by clicking on the save button.

Step 8 - Academic Details

• Here, candidates have to submit their educational qualification-related information from Class X to XII such as passing year, name of the board, etc.

Step 9 - Additional Information

• In this step, candidates should provide additional information such as their parents' occupation, medium of instruction and other important information.

Step 10 - Preview and Submit the Application

• Candidates should preview the application form they have filled out thoroughly and submit it if there are no mistakes.

Step 11 - Print Out of Application Form

• Candidates can take a printout of the TNEA application form after submitting it for future reference.

Anna University BTech Selection Process 2022

• Seats for admissions to the BTech programmes at Anna University will be allocated to the students based on TNEA counselling conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu.
• TNEA stands for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions and is conducted by the DTE, Tamil Nadu to offer admissions to eligible students in various engineering colleges of Tamil Nadu including Anna University.
• TNEA exam has been scrapped and the counselling will be conducted based on the Class XII marks of the candidates and seats will be allocated to the candidates to the BTech programmes through the TNEA rank list released by the DTE, Tamil Nadu.

BTech

• Students wishing to secure an admission for the first semester of 8 semesters of the BE/BTech Degree programmes have to pass Higher Secondary Exam or 10+2 or equivalent with Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.
