National Institute of Technology (NIT), Tiruchirapalli was established in 1964 by the Government of India and Tamil Nadu as a Regional Engineering College. It was then affiliated with the University of Madras. The Government of India and the AICTE renamed it as NIT, Tiruchirapalli. JEE Mains

• Admission to the BTech programmes at NIT Trichy will be offered to the students through Central Seat Allocation Board based on All India Rank in JEE Mains subject to meeting the eligibility requirements.
• The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India looks after the seat allotment through JEE Mains to the BTech programmes at NITs.
• Candidates will be allocated seats to the BTech programmes of NIT Trichy based on their rank in the JEE Mains, choices given by them in the JoSAA Counselling and their category.

Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA)

• Admissions to the BTech programmes at NIT, Trichy will be offered to Foreign Nationals, PIO, OCI and NRI students under the DASA scheme.
• Candidates should have passed the 10+2 or Senior Secondary Exam from any system of education recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
• Candidates should have completed Mathematics, Physics as compulsory subjects and other subjects - Biotechnology, Chemistry, Computer Science and Biology in Class XI or XII with an aggregate of at least 60% marks or 6.50 CGPA.
• Candidates are also required to have a valid SAT score of 1440.

NIT Trichy BTech Fee Structure

The total fee for all the BTech programmes at NIT Trichy for General candidates is Rs. 1,14,950/- per semester (first semester). The fee structure for BTech students of different categories at NIT Trichy is given below.

• The fee particulars mentioned above apply to students of all the categories except the tuition fee.
• There will be no tuition fee for the BTech programmes at NIT Trichy for the students belonging to SC/ST/PwD category students.
• The tuition fee is USD 2000 for the students belonging to SAARC countries admitted through DASA while it is 4000 USD for the students of Non-SAARC countries admitted under the DASA category.
