Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur is a public research university established in 1951 by the Government of India in Kharagpur, West Bengal, India. IIT Kharagpur MBA Selection Process 2022

Candidates will be selected for admission to the MBA programme at Vinod Gupta School of Management, IIT Kharagpur in two steps. The information about the two steps is provided below.

Short-listing for Personal Interview

• Candidates will be short-listed for the Personal Interview based on CAT 2021 score, past academic performance, and other criteria (if applicable). Refer to the cutoff section for the CAT qualifying score.
• Candidates will be short-listed for the Personal Interview round based on the following components and weightage.

The Application Rating (AR) looks at the academic performance of the candidates at various stages such as secondary, higher secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate (if any) along with work experiences. The application rating details for different degrees or work experiences are given below.

Note

• Candidates who have work experience in the form of internships/training/projects will not be considered for scoring.
• For candidates who are still in service, their experience will be calculated till 31^st January 2022.
• The percentage of marks awarded in the Bachelor's/Master's by the University will be treated as final. However, if the concerned University/Institute does not provide any percentage, the CGPA of the candidates will be calculated by the following method.

Marks Percentage = 60 + (40/3.5) × [(CGPA Obtained/Total CGPA) × 10 - 6.5].

Final Selection and Admission Offer

Candidates will be finally selected for admission based on the cumulative score of the Application Rating (AR), Performance in CAT 2021, and Interview. Five marks will be given for GDF for all female candidates.

IIT Kharagpur MBA Eligibility 2022

Candidates wishing to appear for the MBA should meet the following criteria.

• Candidates must have passed a Bachelor's Degree of a minimum 4 years duration in technology, engineering, medicine, pharmacy or similar disciplines, or a Master's Degree in Commerce/Economics/Statistics (with Statistics or Mathematics at Bachelor's Level) with an aggregate of at least 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale while it is 55% of 6.00 CGPA for students of SC/ST/PwD category.
• Students appearing for the final year examinations of the above-mentioned degrees of waiting for the results can also apply. However, the admission of these candidates will be provisional if selected, and the seats get confirmed only if they submit all the relevant documents at the institute on or before 31^st May 2022.
• Admission for students of reserved categories will be granted according to the Government of India rules.
• Candidates should be in good health. In case of discrepancies in the medical certificate submitted during registration, the opinion of the Institute Medical Officer will be final.
• Candidates of the PwD category seeking admission to the MBA programme have to appear before Medical Board on or before 31^st October 2022 at IIT Kharagpur. The Medical Board's decision is final and binding on the candidates.

• A 5-year integrated Bachelor's and Master's degree will be considered equivalent to a 4-year Bachelor's Degree for the admission process. Candidates will not get separate points in their Application Rating (AR) score for Integrated Master's Degree.
