The National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT Calicut or NITC) was founded in 1961 as a public technical university. The campus is located on the Kozhikode-Mukkam Road, 22 kilometres north of Kozhikode. Since 2009, the institute has provided outstanding management education. NITC is UGC-approved and AICTE-accredited. NAAC has awarded the University an A grade. Admission to various courses is based on entrance tests, which are followed by a group discussion/personal interview.

NIT Calicut MBA Program Highlights:

  • The MBA programme lasts 2 years and is divided into 4 semesters.
  • Candidates are expected to complete a total of 28 courses, which include 18 core subjects and 10 optional subjects organised into streams of specialisation.
  • Candidates must complete three laboratories over the first three semesters of the programme, as well as a business research project during the final semester.
  • During the yearly vacation, the students will also be required to do an eight-week summer internship in any of the reputable business companies of their choosing.

NIT Calicut MBA Application Process:

Candidates must submit their application online. The steps for completing the online application form are as follows:

  • Go to the official site (URL for admission - https://dss.nitc.ac.in/somsapp/soms/login.aspx )
  • From the admissions icon, select 'apply now.'
  • Register with a valid e-mail address and phone number to create an account on the web site.
  • Fill out all of the needed information completely.
  • Colour scans of the required documents should be uploaded.
  • By net banking/credit card/debit card, pay the registration cost of Rs. 1,000 (Open/OBC/EWS/PwD Candidates) and Rs. 500/- (SC/ ST/).
  • Submit the form.
  • The completed hard copy application form, along with payment receipts and copies of all needed paperwork, shall be submitted to the Assistant Registrar (the address is provided below.)

NIT Calicut MBA Selection Process:

To get accepted to NITC, candidates must fulfil the following steps:

  • The decision will be made based on CAT test results and group discussion and personal interview performance.
  • Work experience, grades from the 10th and 12th grades, the PG/PG Diploma, and other achievements will all be given credit.
  • Candidates will be chosen through online interviews.

Reservations:

  • The allocation of seats to various castes, tribes, and other categories must follow the guidelines set forth by the MHA, Government of India.
  • The total intake is 80.
  • For the academic year 2022, there will be a total of 75 regular students enrolled.
  • There will be 5 sponsored applicants accepted in 2022.

NIT Calicut MBA Eligibility:

The following are the admission requirements for the MBA programme at NITC:

  1. Regular Candidates:
  • Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognised university in any field.
  • They must have received a minimum of 60% for general candidates (55% for SC and ST Category).
  • Candidates in their last year of education must also apply.
  • Candidates must have a valid CAT/CMAT test score.
  • Candidates who have been sponsored must also have a valid entrance exam (CAT/CMAT) score.
  1. Sponsored Candidates:
  • Candidates who are sponsored by their companies to enrol in NIT Calicut's MBA programme should submit their application.
  • After graduating, they must have a minimum of three years of work experience with the sponsoring company.
  • The preference will go to those who have passed national level entrance exams like the CAT/CMAT or an equivalent.
  • Based on their performance in the personal interview, students are chosen.
