Babu Banarasi Das University is one of the top universities in Lucknow, popular for its MBA course. It is named after the ex-chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri. Babu Banarasi Das. It was founded in the year 2010 by Akhilesh Das Gupta, the son of Shri. Babu Banarasi Das. The university is fully recognised by the AITCE and has NAAC accreditation.
Application Procedure:
- To apply for the MBA course at BBD university, the candidate needs to fill out the application form available on the website - bbdu.ac.in. The form can be filled online as well as offline.
- For those candidates applying offline, you will find the application form on the university website - and send the form along with the necessary document via post to the admissions office on campus.
- The payment for the application form can be made by demand draft drawn in favour of “Babu Banarasi Das Northern India Institute of Technology” payable at Lucknow. The application fee is Rs. 500.
- Candidates applying offline have to ensure their documents reach campus before registration closes.
Those applying online, follow these steps to apply for the MBA course at BBD:
Step I: Registration: Go to the admission portal https://bbdu.ac.in/apply-online/ on BBD’s official website or click on this link. Register yourself for the admissions procedure by entering your email id and phone number
Step II: Verification: Next, you have to verify your email address or your phone number by entering the OTP send to your respective email id or phone number and enter it on the website
Step III: Personal Details: Once you are done with registration you have to fill in your personal details. This would include you background, your address and photograph and many more
Step IV: Additional details: In this section you have to fill in your academic record. For this segment you also have to keep the following documents ready to upload:
- Original 10th and 12th Mark sheet.
- Original Graduation Final Year Mark sheet.
- For UG course, original TC or university migration certificate.
- Aadhaar photocopy
- Caste Certificate if applicable
Step V: Payment: The payment for the application process can be done online on the admission portal itself. The candidate has to pay a fee of Rs. 500. This concludes the admission procedure registration.
Selection Process:
Before applying for BBD university, candidates are required to attempt a common entrance test. The university accepts the results of the following competitive exams: CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, GMAT, ATMA.
The university selects their MBA students solely based on their academic scores and their results in the competitive examination. Priority will be given to those students who have a better academic score.
Fee structure:
The total fee for the MBA course at BBD university is Rs. 2,50,000. The fee has to be paid in instalment, and each instalment before the beginning of each semester. The following table shows the distribution of the fee structure. Note the first instalment has to be paid at the time of provisional admissions:

Hostel accommodation is available on the campus. The cost of the same is based on the number of students sharing each room. The following table shows the annual cost of the hostel. Note the cost is the same for both the boy’s hotel and the girl’s hostel:

Eligibility Criteria:
The following is the eligibility criteria for the MBA program at BBD:
- Candidates who have graduated from any university recognised by the AICTE and have a minimum 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA can apply
- Candidates must also attempt any of the following management entrance exams: CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, GMAT, ATMA.
- Relaxation in qualification and reservation is as per UGC and State Govt. norms.
