Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani is the oldest of all the BITS campuses and was established in Pilani, Rajasthan in 1958. It is backed by the Aditya Birla Group and is deemed to be a university in Rajasthan. BITS Pilani primarily focuses on higher education and research sciences and engineering. Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) has become the first international deemed university after its expansion to a campus in Dubai. It is among the first six institutes that were credited with the status of "Institute of Eminence " in 2018. Admissions to its various programmes are offered through the BITSAT.

BITS Pilani BTech Application Process 2022

Students can apply for BE programme admissions at BITS Pilani through the BITSAT by following the steps mentioned below.

• Candidates can fill out the BITSAT exam application form for securing admission to the BE programmes through the official website of the BITS Pilani.
• Candidates are required to keep the unique application number generated after filling out the BITSAT application form safe.
• After this, candidates should proceed towards making fee payment and complete the payment of the application fee through Net Banking, Credit or Debit Card.
• Candidates are also allowed to pay the application fee for the BITSAT from any branch of the ICICI by downloading the pay-in slip from the website of the BITS Pilani.

BITS Pilani BTech Selection Process 2022

Candidates can secure admissions to the BE programmes at BITS Pilani through the following ways.

1. Through BITSAT

• Students will get admission to the BE programmes based on their merit in the BITSAT only.
• According to the score secured by the candidates in the BITSAT 2022, a merit list of students for BE programme admissions at BITS Pilani will be prepared. However, they should meet the BITS Pilani BE eligibility to secure admission.
• BITS Pilani campus only looks into the latest performance of students for BE admissions through a public exam.
• If the results of the latest exam are not available before the last date for application submission, students will not be considered for BE programme admissions at BITS Pilani.

1. Direct Admissions for Board Toppers

• Candidates have to top in the science stream with Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics as mandatory subjects in Class XII to become eligible for direct admissions to the BE programmes at BITS Pilani.
• The topper should fulfil the following requirements.
  • The topper should have studied Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics in Class XII.
  • The student should be the one who secured the highest percentage of marks in Class XII among all the students who have studied Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics from the respective State or Central Board.
  • Admission to the BE programmes under this scheme is available for only those students who have secured the first rank according to the Board's announcement.

1. International Admissions Scheme

Students who fulfil the below-mentioned requirements can apply for BE programme admissions at BITS Pilani under this scheme.

• Only students who have a passport from a country other than India can apply for BE programme admissions under this scheme.
• Candidates must have finished their Class XII or equivalent with Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics along with adequate English proficiency conducted by the Senior or Higher Secondary Education Board including those in India or its equivalent such as A levels, the International Baccalaureate.
• Candidates should have obtained an aggregate of at least 75% marks or 7.5-grade points in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in the qualifying exam with an aggregate of at least 60% marks in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.
• Also, candidates should obtain a score of 1160 (out of 1600) on SAT which contains a Reading Test, Writing and Language Test and Math Test.
• SAT scores of the students who have written it as per the old pattern will be mapped as per the tables available from the College Board of USA.
• The SAT written by International students must not be older than 1^st February 2020.

BITSAT

• BITSAT is a computer-based online exam and it contains a total of 150 questions from 4 different sections.
• Every question of the BITSAT carries 3 marks and 1 mark will be reduced for every wrong answer.

BITS Pilani BTech Eligibility Criteria 2022

Candidates should meet the eligibility requirements mentioned below to become eligible for applying for BE admissions at BITS Pilani.

• Candidates should have passed the Class XII exam of the 10+2 system from a State or Central Board recognized by the Government of India with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as mandatory subjects along with adequate proficiency in the English language.
• Candidates must secure an aggregate of at least 70% in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry with a minimum of 60% marks in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics subjects.
