IIT Kanpur MBA

Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur is a public technical university established in 1959 in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. It was established with the assistance of a consortium of 9 US research universities as a part of the Kanpur Indo-American Programme. IIT Kanpur MBA Application Process 2022

Eligible candidates can apply for the MBA programme at IIT Kanpur by following the steps given below.

Step 1 - Sign Up

• Just visit the IIT Kanpur PG admission portal - https://pingala.iitk.ac.in/MBADM-0/login to register yourself. Registration is essential before applying to any programme.
• Use your credentials to log into the system after a successful registration.
• Your registered email ID will be the username to enter the registration portal of the IIT Kanpur. Create a strong password.
• Provide correct First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Date of Birth and Email ID while registering on the portal as the same date will be used by the system to fill in your details.
• You can change or retrieve your forgotten password by clicking on the "Forgot Password" link available on the portal.

Step 2 - Filling a Form

You should go through the instructions in the information brochure carefully before filling up the application form for MBA admission.

• Fill in the application form for the MBA admission with all the requisite information.
• The portal does not save the data automatically and you have to click on "Save and Next" or "Save as Draft" to save the data.
• You have to pay the application fee for admission online after the successful submission of the application form.
• The application form without the fee payment will be rejected and bank charges on the fee must be borne by the candidates.
• A printout option will be provided on the official website to save a pdf copy of the application form. If you forgot to download it, you can log in again to download the filled form.
• Make sure that the payment status is complete after the fee payment. You must make at least one preference while filling up the "Programme Selection".
• Upload all the relevant documents. The system accepts only PDF files of a max of 2 MB for documents and .jpg or .png files of a max of 500kb for photographs.

General Instructions

• Fee payment is mandatory.
• A separate application form is to be submitted for each programme.
• You can choose the result status as "Awaited" on the Education Information Page if the results of the final year are awaited or if you are appearing for the exams.
• You can click on the + button shown on the page if you wish to add an extra record of anything.
• The career, year of passing, marks in the semester, from the date and to date are mandatory fields on the Education Information Page. Enter valid information.
• Keep all the necessary documents in the prescribed format while applying for admission.

IIT Kanpur MBA Selection Process 2022

Eligible candidates can participate in the admission process of the IIT Kanpur. The stages involved in the admission process of the MBA programme at IIT Kanpur are given below.

Stage 1 - Apply by filling an online application form if you meet the IIT Kanpur MBA eligibility criteria.

Stage 2 - Candidates will be short-listed based on the application forms received and the CAT score.

Stage 3 - Group Discussion & Personal Interview

• Due to the circumstances arising out of COVID, IIT Kanpur did not conduct the Group Discussion and the Personal Interview. Instead of it, the short-listed candidates were evaluated based on the CAT percentile, academic background and work experience.

Stage 4 - Merit List Preparation

• Candidates of different categories (General, OBC, EWS, SC, ST and PwD) will be listed separately. The cutoff for candidates of different categories will be decided by the committee-in-charge for admissions to the IME department.

Note

• Stages 2,3 and 4 for General, EWS, OBC and SC, ST candidates will be conducted independently. These two groups will not be compared at any stage of the admission process.
• The final merit list will be prepared for every category separately.
• Candidates have to leave the organization if it is found that they misinterpreted or hidden relevant information, and their admission will be cancelled.

IIT Kanpur Fee Structure

The total fee for a General candidate for the MBA programme at IIT Kanpur is around Rs. 4,50,000/- for a hosteler. The final fee for the MBA programme at IIT Kanpur for candidates of different categories is given below.

Note

• 100% tuition fee will be waived for students of the SC/ST/PH category. However, their tuition fee will not be waived if they pursue an MBA programme under sponsored or part-time category.
• SC/ST students will not be charged hostel fees if their parental income is less than 6 lakhs per annum. They can claim the refund by providing the Income Certificate of the Parents after the completion of Academic Registration.

IIT Kanpur Eligibility Criteria 2022

Candidates must fulfil the following criteria to become eligible for applying for the MBA programme at IIT Kanpur.

• All the candidates must have passed B.Tech, B.E or B.Arch (with Mathematics as one of the subjects in Class XII) or a 4-year degree programme leading to B.Sc (Engineering) or Bachelor of Science or Master of Science or MA Economics (with Mathematics as one of the Subjects at UG) with an aggregate of at least 65% marks or 6.5 CGPA on a scale of 10 (55% or 5.5 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD) from any recognized university or institute.
• Candidates must have a valid CAT cutoff score mentioned in the cutoff section and 65% or above for General/OBC/EWS in Class X and XII examinations while it is 55% and above for SC/ST/PwD.
• Final-year students appearing for the degree examinations can also apply for admission at IIT Kanpur. These candidates will be admitted provisionally if selected and they have to produce all the relevant documents at the time of joining the course.
