Amity University Kolkata

Amity University opened its doors in 2005 and is located in Kolkata. The NAAC gave it an A+. It provides a range of undergraduate and graduate courses and is approved by UGC. The two-year MBA program offers a variety of excellent specializations. It scored a 9.4 based on employment outcomes. Two intakes occur each year: the January Intake and the July Intake. The university is in the top 3% of all universities in the world. The application process is currently open

Application Procedure

Final year students can also apply to the program.

Steps for application are given below-

• Go to www.amity.edu, which is the official website.
• Click the link for admission.
• Use your email address and password to sign up. This E-mail address cannot be changed in future.
• After receiving the email confirmation, log in.
• Complete the application form with the necessary data.
• Attach the JPEG version of your scanned signature and a color photo. Softcopy of all the documents must be uploaded. No image should be larger than 50KB.

List of the documents needed are-

• Class X marksheet
• Class XII marksheet
• Graduation marksheet
• Entrance examination scorecard
• Caste certificate (if any)
• Authenticate all the details, then save the application.
• Pay for your application using one of the methods offered.Cost of application form is INR 1,100/- only. Cost is non-refundable and can be paid via net banking or debit/credit card.
• The application form should be printed out for future use.

For those who wish to apply offline, downloaded application form must send be to the campus along with a completed application form, a photo, and a DD for INR 1100 payable at Delhi or New Delhi in favor of "Amity Form."

Incomplete forms and one with incorrect details are bound to be rejected.

Selection Procedure

The selection depends upon merit and entrance exam test scores.

Step 1: reviewing of the application

The admissions department will examine each applicant's application. It is based on the graduate's GPA and the results of entrance exams like the CAT, MAT, GMAT, and XAT.

Step 2: shortlisting candidates for written test

Candidates who don't meet the requirements on the aforementioned exams must take a written aptitude test administered by the university. Considering written exams, one might be required to write an essay or answer some questions about logic or English grammar.

Step 3: personal interview

Personal interviews will be held with qualified candidates. Candidates will be interviewed by the expert panel. It typically lasts for 15 to 20 minutes and consists of simple inquiries like "why amity?"

Students will only be considered for admission to the MBA program at Amity University if they successfully complete the final stage of the selection process, the personal interview.

Fees Structure (In INR)

Total fees for 1^st year is INR 2.21L

Total fees for 2^nd year is INR 2.01L

Total fees for the course is INR 4.22L

HOSTEL CHARGES

• The cost of boarding and laundry services are included in the hostel fee.
• The annual fees are INR 1,00,000/- for both boys and girls.
• INR 10,000 is one-time security fees which is refundable.

Eligibility Criteria

• A graduate degree in any discipline with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) or grade obtained from an accredited university or institution that is at least 50%.

Students failing to get minimum eligibility criteria can apply through sponsored criteria.

• 10+2 minimum 50% or equivalent.
• Qualified score from the CAT, NMAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, GMAT, GRE, SNAP, or Thapar Entrance test.

CAT 2022 exam date- 27^th November, 2022

CAT 2022 result – 4^th January, 2023.

MAT 2022 application process – 3^rd Jan to 11^th May, 2022

MAT 2022 exam date-14^th May, 2022

MAT 2022 result declared on 5^th June, 2022

Placements

• The highest package was 21.5 LPA
• The average package is around 5 LPA
• For the class of 2022, the institute is also holding a placement drive, and so far, 18 students have been hired.
• Mostly, alumni are working at IBM, Wipro, Samsung, Nokia, Paytm, MetLife, Apollo, KPMG, Justdial, Google, SBI Life, Microsoft, HDFC, etc.
• Flipkart, LIDO, TCS, Evalueserve, Genpact, BYJU's, VMware, HCL, YesBank, Cognizant, and Dell Technologies were a few of the top recruiters that took part in the 2021 placement drive.

Cut Offs

• NMAT cutoff is 60 for round 1.
• CAT cut off is 85 for round 1.

Above-mentioned cutoffs are for unreserved category.

Scholarships

Seats on scholarships are scarce. Only those who meet the required percentages may apply for scholarships. Candidates who received the aforementioned percentages must complete the Amity Application form. Direct admission and scholarship applications will not be taken into consideration without the necessary mark sheets. The scholarship committee makes the final determination regarding awarding scholarships.

Additional 10% scholarship to female students and 15% to those whose sibling are wither studying in Amity or an alumnus of the same.

Sports Scholarships

• As stated in the admission prospectus, students should meet the minimum academic requirements for the specific program.
• As of July 31, 2022, the applicant's age cannot exceed 23.
• The admission of students is based on their application form and an evaluation of their sports certificates from the previous three years; they are not required to appear for the sports trial and interview.
• Sports certificate is needed. Last date for applying is 30^th August, 2022.
• National participation gives 25% scholarship.
• National medal winners get 50% scholarship.

Martyr’s Scholarship

• A candidate must both meet the minimal academic requirements for the applicable program as listed in the admission prospectus and be chosen through the selection process.
• Selected students will receive 100% scholarships based on the evaluation of the scholarship committee.
• The scholarship will be awarded after you enroll in the program, and any excess fees you paid will be deducted from your subsequent academic fees.
