Himalayan Pharmacy Institute (HPI), East Sikkim established in 1990, is the pioneer institution conducting pharmacy courses in the state. The institute has been approved by Govt. of Sikkim, AICTE and PCI and affiliated to Sikkim University. HPI is an independent, co-educational institution comprising diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate pharmacy programs. There are post graduate courses viz. pharmaceutics, pharmacognosy, pharmacology, pharmaceutical analysis and quality assurance. The institute has been accredited by QSI; ISO 9001:2008 and also recognised by UGC.HPI is a leading research institute in the North-east region.
HPI has received research and seminar grants from AICTE, CSIR, DST and ICMR. The college has been established with the idea of exploiting the possibility of utilising the abundant rare medicinal plants available in the Himalayan region. Himalayan Pharmacy Institute is committed to the success of its students and expects the students to work hard in pursuit of academic excellence and in exchange offer instruction, guidance and assistance.
