It has been operational since 1992-93. It is a private college affiliated with Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot.
Institute offers two main courses. Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) is a four-year program followed by a one-year internship. The Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) is available in six specializations each taking three years to complete. The specializations are Conservative Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge, Orthodontics, Periodontology and Pedodontics.
BDS course has an intake capacity of 60 students. Faculty consists of 84 members. The institute features comprehensive facilities, including a library with 4,286 books, 61 international journals and 12 Indian journals. It also has a centrally air-conditioned building, playgrounds, a swimming pool and a gym.
For admissions institute considers scores from National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). The institute receives recognition from the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Dental Council of India.
