Tripura Medical College, West Tripura was established in 2006 by the Global Educational Net (GENET) and Government of Tripura in a Public-Private Partnership. It is one of the pioneer medical institutions The college operates the hospital known as Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Memorial Teaching Hospital within the campus. It is affiliated to Tripura University and recognized by the Ministry of Health, Government of India and Medical Council of India (MCI). The college offers MBBS, Doctor of Medicine and Master of Surgery programs.
The college has well qualified teaching staff having good experience in the field of medical science.. Admissions are based on Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by TMC itself. For M.B.B.S. programme out of 100 seats 80 seats are allotted to Tripura state domiciled candidates while remaining 20 seats are allotted for others.
