IGNOU Distance MBA Fee

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is a globally renowned distance learning institute located in New Delhi. Through its 22 schools of education, it provides a wide range of courses in disciplines like Management, Computer Science, Agriculture, Commerce, Education, Mass Communication, Social work, foreign language and more.

IGNOU’s School of Management Studies (SOMS) was established in 1987 and offers a wide variety of courses.  Below mentioned are some of the popular courses provided by this school-

IGNOU Distance MBA is offered for a minimum duration of 2.5 years. It can be completed in a maximum duration of up to 8 years. There is no minimum or maximum age bar.

IGNOU Distance MBA Fee Structure

The distance MBA fee of IGNOU is a total of Rs. 31,500. The MBA program of IGNOU comprises a total of 21 courses, the fees of each of which is Rs. 1500. Hence, the total IGNOU distance MBA fee comes to be Rs. 31,500 (21 x 1500 = 31,500).

The details of the course is as follows-

• DIM- consists of 3 compulsory courses i.e. MS-1 to MS-3 and two elective courses to be chosen out of four elective courses (MS-4/5/6 and 7).
• PGDIM Eleven Courses i.e. MS-1 to MS-11
• (PGSDMs) Five courses from any one of the 5 specialization streams for PGSDM in that area
• Integrative Module – consists of two compulsory courses (MS-91, MS-95) and one elective course out of any 5 elective courses (MS-92/93/94/96 and 97) and a project course which is equivalent to two courses (Thus making a total of five courses)

Distance MBA Eligibility

The distance MBA eligibility for doing this particular course from IGNOU is detailed as follows-

• The candidate must be a graduate in any field with a minimum of 50% marks for unreserved categories and 45% marks for reserved (SC/ ST) categories. These candidates must also have a minimum of 3 years experience in a managerial/ supervisory/ professional capacity.

OR

• The candidate should have a professional degree with a minimum of 50% marks in any of the following fields- Engineering, Medicine, Chartered Accountancy (ICAI), Cost and Works Accountancy (ICWAI), Chartered Secretaryship (ICSI) and Law

In addition to any of the above-mentioned criteria, the candidate willing to meet the distance MBA eligibility requirements of IGNOU must also have passed the entrance test conducted by IGNOU called OPENMAT. After the candidate sits for OPENMAT, the results delivered to them indicate if they have qualified or not. After they have qualified, the candidate can proceed with the admission process.

Eligibility Criteria for MBA in Banking and Finance (MPB)

• He/she Should be a graduate from a recognized university
• Candidate should have cleared the CAIIB exam conducted by the Indian Institute of Bankers
• He/she should have at least 2 years of experience in the banking industry

For Foreign Students

Foreign students residing in India and having a valid student visa for the minimum duration of the programme are eligible to seek admission in IGNOU programmes. Such students are required to remit the fee at par with foreign students.

Admission of foreign students residing in India will be processed by the International Division of the University after ensuring their antecedents from the Ministry of External Affairs/Ministry of Human Resource Development.

IGNOU Distance MBA Admission Procedure

FORM-1

For admission into the MBA course from IGNOU, the students first have to procure the OPENMAT entrance form, called Form 1, either online or from the prospectus. After submission of the form, the candidate is required to download hall ticket from the IGNOU website.

The result of the entrance test will be delivered to the candidate’s registered address within 6-7 weeks of the date of conducting the exam. In case of a failure of delivery, the result card can be downloaded from the IGNOU website. The candidate is to proceed with the admission only if the result card indicates that they have qualified for admission.

FORM-2

To proceed, the admission form, called Form 2, available with the prospectus is to be sent to Regional Director, IGNOU, along with the requisite documents. The full details can be obtained from the prospectus of School of Management Studies, available on the IGNOU website http://www.ignou.ac.in/
