Exam Summary

What is SRMJEEEE?

SRMJEEEE stands for Sri Ramaswamy Memorial University Joint Engineering Entrance Exam that is conducted by the SRM University to select students into their institution every year. Through this exam, students can get an admission into any bachelor’s stream of engineering (provided they have scored the marks). Being a deemed university, the institution has complete authority when it comes to conducting the exam.

There are five campuses located in India, 3 in Tamil Nadu (Ramapuram, Kattankulathur, and Vadapalani), one in Delhi (Delhi-NCR Campus) and a recent one in Andhra Pradesh (Amaravati Campus). The online application for the 2018 exam opens on 1^st November 2017 and closes on 31^st March 2018. The SRMJEEE will be held from 16^th April to 30^th April 2018.

Pattern of SRMJEEEE 2018

The university follows a multiple choice question pattern for this exam, where they give four choices for one question among which one of them is the right answer. A candidate is tested in three subjects – Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

Students applying for a biology-related stream like biotechnology will also have questions pertaining to Biology. Usually, people going for a biology-related stream usually take the latter combination while others take the former.

Duration: The duration of the exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Questions: The candidates have to answer 105 questions, with 35 questions in each section. Each question carries 3 marks and from 2018, the institution has decided to remove the concept of negative marking.

Medium: The exam can only be taken online and in the English language.

For 2018, the exam will be conducted from 16^th April to 30^th April, with two slots every day; a morning and an afternoon slot. Students can choose any one convenient date to take up the exam. The syllabus for the exam covers most of the topics that come in the 12^th grade CBSE syllabus.

SRMJEEEE 2018 Eligibility Criteria

The following are the rules to be followed while applying for this exam:

• The candidate must be at least 17 years of age as of 31^st December of the application year.
• Candidates applying for this exam must be Indian, Non-resident Indians or must have PIO or OCI card issued by the Government of India. Additionally, NRI’s and holders of PIO or OCI card holders who have taken the SRMJEEEE exam must apply under the International student category.

For all B.Tech programs

• The candidate must have scored an aggregate of 60 % in their physics, chemistry, and mathematics in their 12^th grade (For Kattankulathur, Ramapuram and Vadapalani campus).
• For the NCR, Delhi campus, the candidate should have scored a minimum aggregate of 55% in mathematics, chemistry, and physics.
• Students planning on pursuing their bachelor’s degree in biotechnology, biomedicine or genetics will have their biology marks considered too.
• Candidates who have passed or are currently appearing for their higher secondary examination with Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics (or Biology) as major subjects, are only eligible for this examination.
• Candidates with International Baccalaureate with Diploma or A – level with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (or Biology) in any international school in India are eligible.

SRMJEEEE 2018 Application Procedure and submission procedure

The following are the steps involved in the application process:

• Registration
• Verification of email id
• Filling up of application form
• Uploading necessary documents
• Payment of application fees
• Submission of the application form
• Downloading the admit card

Step-1: Registration

First and foremost the applicants will have to register themselves with SRM University. On completion of this process, candidates will be given a login ID and password that will be used to access their personal details. While registration, the university will ask for a valid email id and they will also verify the email id provided by the candidate.

Step-2: Verification of Email-id & Uploading documents

Once the registration and verification of the email id is completed, the candidate will have to log in their account to fill the application form. Candidates also have to upload their 10^th mark sheet, 12^th mark sheet (if applicable), passport size photograph and their signature.

Step-3: Payment of application fee

While submitting the application form candidates will be asked to pay the application fee which amounts to Rs. 1110 through their preferred choice payment option (internet banking, debit card or credit card). Please note that the exam fee is non-refundable.

Once the candidate submits his / her application form, they will be given a registration number which will be used for further reference. Additionally, the candidate will also be asked to choose their slot for the examination that is the date, time and the venue of the exam.

On completion of all the above-mentioned steps, the candidate will be able to download the SRMJEEE admit card which will contain all the necessary information about the exam.

SRMJEEEE 2018 Admit Card

Once the students submit their application form, they will be given an admit card which is of utmost importance. The admit card contains the following details:

• The name of the candidate
• Registration or enrollment number
• The date of the exam
• The timing of the exam
• The venue or the test center

Students will be given a login ID and password and by using these credentials they will have to login to their accounts and download their admit cards. Analogous to a hall ticket, it is advised that the candidates preserve their admit cards till the entire admission process is completed.

Additionally, if the candidates find any discrepancies in the details furnished in the admit card they are to report it immediately to the Director of Admissions. The candidate needs to be present with their admit cards at their respective test centers to attend the test. Latecomers will not be entertained at any cost.

SRMJEEEE 2018 Admission Procedure

Once the candidate takes the test, they will have to wait for the results to be announced. For the year 2018, the results will be announced on 3^rd May 2018 and the results are usually put up on their official website.

After the results are declared, based on the ranking candidates are called for counseling. The first session of counseling will be conducted from 14^th May to 23^rd May 2018. The online counseling session commences during the fourth week of May.

During counseling, based on the availability and merit, candidates are allowed to choose their respective stream and also their desired campus. Once a candidate secures an admission in their chosen stream they will be given a Provisional Allotment Letter (PAL) which is a testament to the fact that the candidate is guaranteed an admission in their chosen stream in the chosen campus. Full tuition fee is to be paid at counseling when the student chooses his /her stream of engineering.

Once the student fulfills all the necessary formalities, they secure an admission at SRM University and start their undergraduate program from mid-June or early July.

SRMJEEEE 2018 Syllabus

SRMJEEEE will be of two and a half hours. There will be three parts in the question paper namely – Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology. The exam will be conducted in online (computer based) mode only.

SRMJEEEE 2018 Results

As notified in the official notification, the results of SRMJEEEE 2018 will be declared on 3^rdMay 2018. Candidates will be able to check their results and download their scorecard from the official website. After the conduction of the examination, candidates are expected to regularly visit the official website for updates regarding declaration of results and counselling process.

SRMJEEEE 2018 Cut-Off

Students can have an idea of the cut-off of SRMJEEEE by having a look at the previous year cut-off. SRMJEEEE 2018 Score Validity

The validity of the examination score stands for the particular academic year only. Hence, the validity of SRMJEEEE 2018 score will be for the academic year 2018-19 only. Every candidate will get only one chance to appear for SRMJEEEE for a particular academic year. Request for multiple attempts in any scenario will not be entertained by the admission directorate.

SRMJEEEE 2018 Reservation & Seat Distribution

The admission to the SRM University and its affiliated institutes will be purely on merit. It will be based on the score of a candidate in SRMJEEEE. Only those candidates will be called for counselling process whose score will come to a minimum acceptable level i.e. those who will score more or equal to the cut-off marks.

SRMJEEEE 2018 Counselling Schedule

Candidates will be able to view their scores once the result is hosted on the official website. This score will be the basis of their selection in SRMJEEEE. The scores can also be viewed by simply logging on to the account made on the official website.

After the successful conduction of SRMJEEEE, the results will be declared. It is expected to be rolled out on 3^rd May 2018. Those candidates who will be scoring above the cut off mark will be shortlisted for counselling according to the order of merit.

Based on the merit list, candidates will be issued counselling letter for attending the counselling process. The counselling process will be conducted in both online and offline mode. Allotment list will be released on the official website after every round of counselling process. Candidates can check their status for admission from this list.

Candidates attending the counselling process have to ensure that they are in possession of all the required documents like:

• 10th class marksheet and passing certificate
• 12th class marksheet and passing certificate
• Hall Ticket
• Score Card
• Counselling Letter

Hall ticket, Score Card, Counselling Letter must be preserved until the final process of counselling and seat allotment is over.

The sample papers and previous year question papers are available on the official website. Candidates can visit and download the previous year papers of SRMJEEEE and also the sample papers related to the same. They are advised to attempt these papers before taking the actual test. This will help them to get accustomed to the level of the questions asked in the examination.
