Kongu Engineering College was established by ‘The Kongu Vellalar Institute of Technology Trust’ in Erode District, Tamilnadu. The technological college was established in 1983. The institute is affiliated to Anna University Chennai.

The college offers 14 UG (Engineering) programs, 19 PG programs. Other than technical courses, it also offers MBA course. Admission to various programs is based on Entrance exam held by the university.

The campus is spread over an area of 167 acres of land. The college has well equipped with all the modern facilities such as library, sports, transport, hostels, WiFi campus, dispensary, ambulance, food court, power supply, ATM and post office. The college is known for its extraordinary infrastructural facilities and excellent academic record.

The institute offers several scholarships, fee waiver schemes, teaching and research assistance to students. For the 2017 batch, total 1388 students were placed in 132 companies. The average salary being Rs 3,16,000 p.a.

The institute was awarded the “Most Clean Cxampus” by AICTE in 2017.

The students are given 150 hours of campus placement training during their pre-final years on HR, Technical, GD, Written Test and C, C++ program. The trainings are undertaken by the consultants for inputs, staff for practice and by placement officer for fine tuning.

The Infosys Technologies trains the college staffs who in turn teaches the students soft skills training program for 100 hours. 60 hours of class along with a certificate is also provided to the students applying for the Cambridge ESOL-BEC Training.

The campus interviews and training programs are assisted by the placement coordinators who also help in arranging the training programs on soft skills and technical subjects for the staff and students through the corporates as well as conduct online tests on Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, and Verbal Ability.

The average annual package offered was around Rs 3.6 Lakhs.

INTERNSHIPS:

The college has an internship facility where 29 students were granted internship in the 2017-18 batch and 36 students in the 2018-19 batch during their 4^th semester.

Application and Admission Procedure

How to apply?

Students can only apply through online mode. They must register themselves on the Admissions page in the official website. Applicants have to fill in the online form and upload the soft copies of required documents. Applications have to be paid via online payment.

Admissions to the MBA programme depends on the score obtained in TANCET exam. Students have to apply online to register for the exam. Application fee is Rs. 500/- [Rs. 250/- for SC/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu]. Fees are to be paid by demand draft made out to ‘The Secretary, TANCET, Anna University, Chennai’.

Admission Procedure

Admission to MBA courses is based on TANCET scores. Students must have at least 50% marks in qualifying degree course to be eligible for the exam. The exam takes place in the month of May.
