Located in the sprawling Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Hospital campus of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth University, the Dental College is beautifully constructedin 6 acres of area with futuristic infrastructures.

The institute building, which has been majestically erected in 45,500 sq. ft, was designed by one of the most reputed hospital architect consultants, TCPL, in Asia, and the construction was carried out by the L & T group of companies. The spacious lecture halls are of the gallery type and are all equipped with latest audiovisual systems, including multimedia, OHP / LCD projectors and slide projectors, making the learning environment an enjoyable experience to the fraternity and students alike. Meticulous planning has gone into the construction of each department of the hospital and college block, which matches international standards. “Knowledge devoid of experience is like a lamp without oil”.

Admissions :-

The admission to the BDS course is in accordance with the regulation of the Dental Council of India, New Delhi, Government of Pondicherry and the Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth University. Intake of BDS Students is 100.

Eligibility

Candidates for admission to the first year BDS Degree Course should have passed the H.Sc. (Academic) examination conducted by the Board of Higher Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (40% for SC) in the following subjects English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology)

Age Limit

Minimum 17 years as on 31 December. No upper age limit.

Duration

The duration of the B.D.S. course is 5 years, including 1 year compulsory rotary internship, leading to the award of the BDS Degree by Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth University.

Syllabus

The Syllabus is as prescribed by the Dental Council of India and Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth University.
