About Jyotirmoy School of Law:
Jyotirmoy School of Law is established as an institute of Law affiliated to University of Calcutta and approved by the Bar Council of India. Jyotirmoy School of Law is training a new cadre of Legal professionals through comprehensive and contemporary body of integrated knowledge and rigorous education and research programmes. Thus, the function of educational institutions is not only to act as centres of academic excellence to develop the brainpower of their students and turning them out as good professionals, but they need to act also as temples of learning ensuring the development of students’ will power and transforming them into men of good character, responsible citizens and good human beings so that their worldview and life view do not remain confined only to their individual self and personal career advancement leading to selfishness and exploitation of society for personal gains. This also helps to develop in students a sense of their moral responsibility towards these larger goals. Highly qualified faculties are committed towards accomplishing the task.
Jyotirmoy School of Law has been established with a view to make an humble contribution to bridge the gap between the acquired skill and the required skill. The legal education has its past glory but due to certain inevitable circumstances, it had lost its glamour and had the adverse effect on the legal profession as well. The Bar Council of India had since taken certain concrete steps to revive its glory by setting up independent Law Universities all over the country.The Jyotirmoy School of Law has embarked on a mission to develop a Model Law School, which could visualize the societal needs and carry its mission to make significant contribution in the realm of legal education and research.

Eligibility
1) 3 year Law Degree Course - A candidate who has graduated in any discipline from a recognized University can appear for L.L.B. course
2) Integrated Degree Program - Candidate must have passed 10+2 Higher Secondary Exam or an exam cosidered to be equivalnt to 10+2 Higher Secondary Exam can enrol for integrated degree program (LLB and a first degree in any other subject).
Candidates who have obtained 10+2 Higher secondary exam certificate or a graduate degree after taking up other courses through distance mode are also considered eligible for integrated degree course. But those candidates who have obtained 10+2 Higher secondary exam certificate or a graduate degree through distance mode or from open universities without any basic qualification are not eligible for admission into law courses.
Minimum marks for admission into law courses -
1) 40% for SC/ST candidates
2) 45% for other candidates
