popularly known as SMIT, is located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is an engineering institution which has been approved and accredited by AICTE and is affiliated to the Anna university. It was formed with the objective of providing technical education to the socially and economically backward communities. It has been approved and accredited by NBA as well.
The campus of the institute is spread over the scenic beauty of the city. The ambience is maintained in order to provide a tension free and safe environment to the students which is conducive for their academic excellence and is spread over 43.6 acres of land.

Hostel and Facilities

Hostel facilties
The college offers various living accomodations with sepearte hostels for boys and girls. The women’s hostel can accommodate aorund 100 women. It has idnependent kitchens, mess facilties, health equipments, common rooms with telephone facilites, laundry services and so on. The boys hostel can accommodate upto 400 men with mess facilites, laundry services, healthy environement, common rooms, television rooms, well furnished rooms with attached bathrooms, and so on. The hostel rooms are accomodated with table, chairs, cupboards, beds, common bath, and hot water facilities.
Other facilties
There are various other facilties such as libraires, medical services, entreperenurship facilties, transport facilties, canteens, sports and cultural activities, air conditioned seminar halls, spacious audotirums with hi tech audio and video facilties, meeting rooms, well furnished classrooms, full fledged laboratories with hig tech equipments, examination halls, and so on for the provision of right ambience for the students.
