Pragati College, Raipurwas established in 1954, seven years after Independence. The college is affiliated to Gauhati University and approved by University Grants Commission (UGC). It offers regular undergraduate courses in Arts, Science and Commerce fields. A part of that, it also offers distance learning programs in arts, science and commerce which are affiliated to K.K. Handique State Open University.
The college has girl’s hostel facility with all modern facilities. The objective of the college is to maintain healthy educational environment along with over-all development of students.
