Government Law College Madurai, established in the year 1974, is one of the premier institutions imparting legal education in the state of Tamil Nadu. Situated in the temple city, the college received a shot in the arm with the setting up of the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court, a monumental marvel with a perfect blend of tradition and modernity. The students of Government Law College Madurai are indeed privileged, on par with their counterparts in Chennai, to learn in an atmosphere of Higher Judiciary around. As aspiring lawyers, they dream to revolutionize the society and to bring about changes in the lives of people. The challenges thrown up by the latest developments in the field of science and technology are so multifarious, diverse and complicated that we need a new generation of lawyers who are technically sound, professionally competent and also socially relevant. Therefore with a view to helping the students grow in all dimensions by acquiring the necessary soft skills including English Communication, a forum called “English Literary Club” has been functioning from the academic year 2012- 2013.
