What is VITEEE?
VITEEE is conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology for admission into the B.Tech program offered at VIT Vellore and VIT Chennai campus.
VITEEE 2018 Pattern of the Exam
VITEEE 2018 is a computer-based exam. The duration of this exam is two and a half hours. The exam is written in the English Language. The candidates appear for the exam as per the dates that they select, so you can choose the dates which suit you best.
The test paper consists of four sections. Three of these sections are common courses and the fourth is based upon the course for which you apply. Part I is Physics, Part II is Chemistry, Part III is Biology or Mathematics (according to your choice) and Part IV is English is the newest introduced in 2018.
The sections of Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics consist of 40 questions each and the section of English consists of 5 questions. Basically, there are 125 questions in the exam which you have to complete in two and a half hours. The type of question is multiple choice questions. One mark is awarded for each right answer and no negative deduction for the wrong ones.

VITEEE 2018 Eligibility Criteria
Nationality:
- The applicant should be a resident of India or an NRI.
- Foreign Nationals can apply separately through Foreign National Application Form.
Age Criteria:
- Candidates whose Date of Birth falls on or after 1st July 1996 are eligible to apply for VITEEE – 2018.
Qualifying Examinations for VITEEE – 2018
- The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State Board or Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi) or The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ICSE, New Delhi).
- Intermediate or Two –Year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/University.
- High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
- General Certificate Examination (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) Level.
- NIOS candidates are also eligible. They need to produce Migration cum Transfer Certificate at the time of admission.
- Candidates appearing for VITEEE – 2018 should have secured an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).
Relaxation
The aggregate marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology in qualifying examination is relaxed to 50% for:

- Candidates belonging to SC/ST.
- Candidates hailing from Jammu & Kashmir and the North Eastern States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Mizoram Nagaland and Tripura. CERTIFICATE TO PROVE NATIVITY needs to be produces at the time of admission by these candidates.
- Candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible for all the B. Tech programmes.
- Candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible for B. Tech Bio-engineering and B. Tech Biotechnology. They are also eligible for B. Tech Computer Science & Engineering (Spec. in Bio – Informatics) and Electronics and Communication (Spec. in Biomedical Engineering), registering Mathematics as bridge course is necessary.
VITEEE 2018 Application for and Submission Procedure
The Online Applications have already started from 1 November 2017 for both Indian Residents as well as NRI’s. The offline forms are also available and can be collected from designated Post Offices or any campus of VIT University.

Before downloading the admit cards, the candidates need to book their slots for the exam without which the admit cards will not be available. Use the application number and password for accessing the admit cards. Apart from these details, the Signature of Director-UG Admissions, the barcode, scanned picture and signature of the candidate are also given.
