What is VITEEE?

VITEEE is conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology for admission into the B.Tech program offered at VIT Vellore and VIT Chennai campus.

VITEEE 2018 Pattern of the Exam

VITEEE 2018 is a computer-based exam. The duration of this exam is two and a half hours. The exam is written in the English Language. The candidates appear for the exam as per the dates that they select, so you can choose the dates which suit you best.

The test paper consists of four sections. Three of these sections are common courses and the fourth is based upon the course for which you apply. Part I is Physics, Part II is Chemistry, Part III is Biology or Mathematics (according to your choice) and Part IV is English is the newest introduced in 2018.

The sections of Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics consist of 40 questions each and the section of English consists of 5 questions. Basically, there are 125 questions in the exam which you have to complete in two and a half hours. The type of question is multiple choice questions. One mark is awarded for each right answer and no negative deduction for the wrong ones.

VITEEE 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Nationality:

  • The applicant should be a resident of India or an NRI.
  • Foreign Nationals can apply separately through Foreign National Application Form.

Age Criteria:

  • Candidates whose Date of Birth falls on or after 1st July 1996 are eligible to apply for VITEEE – 2018.

Qualifying Examinations for VITEEE – 2018

  • The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State Board or Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi) or The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ICSE, New Delhi).
  • Intermediate or Two –Year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/University.
  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
  • General Certificate Examination (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) Level.
  • NIOS candidates are also eligible. They need to produce Migration cum Transfer Certificate at the time of admission.
  • Candidates appearing for VITEEE – 2018 should have secured an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).

Relaxation

The aggregate marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology in qualifying examination is relaxed to 50% for:

    • Candidates belonging to SC/ST.
    • Candidates hailing from Jammu & Kashmir and the North Eastern States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Mizoram Nagaland and Tripura. CERTIFICATE TO PROVE NATIVITY needs to be produces at the time of admission by these candidates.
    • Candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible for all the B. Tech programmes.
    • Candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible for B. Tech Bio-engineering and B. Tech Biotechnology. They are also eligible for B. Tech Computer Science & Engineering (Spec. in Bio – Informatics) and Electronics and Communication (Spec. in Biomedical Engineering), registering Mathematics as bridge course is necessary.

 VITEEE 2018 Application for and Submission Procedure

The Online Applications have already started from 1 November 2017 for both Indian Residents as well as NRI’s. The offline forms are also available and can be collected from designated Post Offices or any campus of VIT University.

Offline application process:

Candidates can obtain the application form at the cost of Rs. 1200/- through following modes:

  • From designated post offices throughout India. (For list of Post Offices refer to the table above).
  • By producing the Demand Draft for Rs. 1200/- in favour of VIT University, in person, from following places : VIT Vellore Campus, VIT Chennai Campus, VIT Amravati and VIT Bhopal.

Things to keep in mind:-

  • Go through the instructions carefully
  • Use only a Black Ball Point Pen and fill the form only in CAPITAL LETTERS
  • Paste a Passport Size Photo and not selfie photos, make sure it is clear and self-attested
  • Do not enter the address of a coaching institute or any other institution
  • Provide a valid residential address, contact number and E-Mail ID
  • Sign in the space provided because your form will be read by a computer
  • The completed application form should be enclosed separately in the printed envelope provided, addressed to Director- UG Admissions, VIT University, Vellore- 632 014 and sent through Registered Post or Speed Post
  • Do not use stapler pins

  • Enter the all the details asked in the form completely and review them before submitting
  • Now, click on SUBMIT Button
  • An Application Number will be generated which needs to be noted down

Step 4: Payment

  • Now, you’ll be prompted to make the payment for your application which is Rs.1150/- (GST included).
  • You can pay through these modes : Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card
  • Ensure you take a screenshot or keep a hardcopy as a proof of your payment and application

Step 5: Upload Photo and Signature

  • You’ll now be prompted to upload the photo and signature, which is the final step of your application

VITEEE 2018 ADMIT CARD

The admit cards will be made available in March 2018. Before downloading the admit cards, the candidates need to book their slots for the exam without which the admit cards will not be available. Use the application number and password for accessing the admit cards. Following is a sample admit card of VITEEE:

The details included on an admit card are Application number, name, course, subject chosen, test date, test time, test center address and lab code. Apart from these details, the Signature of Director-UG Admissions, the barcode, scanned picture and signature of the candidate are also given. A signature slot for the candidate is also given on the admit card.

VITEEE 2018 ADMISSION PROCEDURE

The admission procedure of VITEEE is a fairly simple process enumerated below:

  • Register yourself for online counselling.
  • Candidates are informed about the counselling schedule by VIT via SMS. All the details are displayed on the VIT website.
  • Submit your choice of the counselling center before the counselling starts and be present at the center for counselling.
  • Vacant seats are displayed on the VIT website and the notice board of the counselling center.
  • The university also provides scholarships under its GV School Development Programme (GVSDP) which are displayed on the VIT website.

Application form for Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam(VITEEE) examination 2018 has been released on 9th November 2017.

VITEEE 2018 SYLLABUS

Mode of examination for Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam(VITEEE) 2018 is Online. The format of the question paper is multiple type questions and there will be four sections that are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics /Biology and English.

The total number of questions will be 125 and duration of the exam is 2 hours. For each correct answer, one (1) mark will be awarded and for wrong answers, there is no negative marking.

Score Validity of Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE) is one year. It means that you can take admission on the basis of your score in the particular year only. If you skip admission for the particular year then you have to again appear for VITEEE.
