Punjab Engineering College University Of Technology (PEC) Chandigarh

Punjab Engineering College University of Technology is located in Chandigarh. It was established in 1921 and was initially located in Lahore. College moved to Chandigarh in 1953. PEC became a deemed university in 2003 and was previously affiliated with Punjab University.

PEC is a government institute and occupies an area of 146 acres. 

The college offers undergraduate postgraduate and doctoral programs. It provides 8 BTech programs and 14 MTech programs in different engineering disciplines. Student to teacher ratio is about 60-1.

The institute has multiple facilities including a library, computer center, sports, hostels and medical services. 

Admissions are based on national-level tests. JEE Mains scores are required for undergraduate admissions. GATE scores are considered for postgraduate admissions. 

PEC is approved by AICTE and accredited by NIRF and NAAC. In 2023 it ranked 101-151 in NIRF among Indian colleges. According to IIRF PEC was ranked 8th out of 166 colleges in the same year. The college collaborates with many international organizations like Concordia University, Intel Technologies India and ABB Global Industries.

In terms of placements the average package in 2023 was INR 15.97 LPA and the highest package was INR 83 LPA. Past recruiters include major companies like Accenture, Deloitte and BHEL.
