Dr Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University Samastipur

Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University (RPCAU) is located in Samastipur. Institute began in 1970 as a State Public University and is designated as an "Institution of National Importance" by Government of India.

The university spans three campuses- Pusa, Dholi and Piprakothi. It covers an area of 2063 acres featuring diverse natural environments. This includes lakes, ponds, wetlands, farmland and many flora and fauna.

RPCAU offers numerous courses within agriculture and allied sciences. It consists of six faculties and five constituent colleges. The university provides undergraduate postgraduate and doctoral programs. Specializations include BSc, B.Tech., MSc, MBA, M.Tech. and different agricultural research programs.

Student enrollment exceeds 2000. There are over 250 faculty members and 8 colleges within university. RPCAU is affiliated with 18 Krishi Vigyan Kendras.

Student facilities include separate hostels for boys and girls, a library, sports facilities, medical services and IT infrastructure.

The university accepts multiple exam scores for admissions. These include All India Entrance Examination in Agriculture and Allied Science conducted by ICAR, CUET UG, CUET PG and GAT-B.

RPCAU holds accreditation from National Agricultural Education Accreditation Board (NAEAB) and recognition from University Grants Commission.

In rankings for 2023, RPCAU placed 151 out of 200 colleges in India according to NIRF. For Agriculture and Allied Sectors, it was ranked 33 out of 40 colleges in India by NIRF.

The university maintains collaborations with four national and six European universities.
