The university offers undergraduate postgraduate and doctoral programs. It has 16 schools and 42 departments. The flagship program is B.Tech which includes integrated courses in Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Legislative Law. Assam University has different affiliated colleges.
The university provides many facilities, including a health care center, gymnasium, central instrumentation laboratory and computer center. It offers hostel accommodation, transport and sports facilities.
For course admissions Assam University accepts multiple entrance test scores. B.Tech candidates can use JEE Main scores. For MBA, university accepts CUET (PG), CAT, XAT and CMAT scores. Assam University also conducts its own entrance exams for certain programs.
It is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by organizations like AICTE, PCI, BCI and NCTE. University was accredited by NAAC in 2007.
