Fee Structure of Martin Luther Christian University, Shillong, East Khasi Hills

1. MLCU Scholarships:

• Applicable to: Deserving students who have secured at least 60% marks in their previous qualifying examination.
• Expenses covered: Varies from 10% to 50% of the tuition fee based on the course and percentage of marks.
• Other eligibility: Limited scholarships available for each course, given on a first-come-first-serve basis.

1. NEC Merit Scholarship:

• Applicable to: Students from the eight North Eastern States of India.
• Expenses covered: Entire course fee, hostel fee and a monthly stipend.
• Other eligibility:
  • Domicile of any of the eight North Eastern States.
  • At least 70% marks in the previous qualifying examination.

1. Central Sector Scholarship Scheme of Minority:

• Applicable to: Minority communities (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains and Parsis).
• Expenses covered: Course fee up to Rs. 20,000 per annum and a monthly maintenance allowance.
• Other eligibility:
  • Belonging to one of the minority communities notified by the Government of India.
  • At least 50% marks in the previous qualifying examination.

1. AICTE-Pragati & Saksham:

• Applicable to: Female students (Pragati) and differently-abled students (Saksham).
• Expenses covered: Tuition fee up to Rs. 30,000 per annum and a monthly contingency allowance.
• Other eligibility:
  • Admitted to any AICTE approved course offered by MLCU.
  • At least 40% marks in the previous qualifying examination.
  • For Pragati scholarship, female candidates only; one girl child per family eligible.
  • For Saksham scholarship, at least 40% disability certified by a competent authority.

1. Government of Meghalaya Scholarship:

• Applicable to: Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories.
• Expenses covered: Course fee up to Rs. 10,000 per annum and a monthly maintenance allowance.
• Other eligibility:
  • Permanent resident of Meghalaya.
  • Belonging to SC, ST, or OBC category as notified by the Government of Meghalaya.
  • Annual family income not exceeding Rs. 2 lakh for SC/ST students and Rs. 1 lakh for OBC students.

Other scholarships - 

• National Handicapped Finance And Development Corporation: Covers course fee up to Rs. 30,000 per annum and a monthly maintenance allowance.
• Social Welfare Department Disability Sector: Covers course fee up to Rs. 10,000 per annum and a monthly maintenance allowance.
• State Resource Centre on Disability Affairs: Covers course fee up to Rs. 10,000 per annum and a monthly maintenance allowance.
