A self-financed university, NIMS University was established in 2008 in Jaipur, Rajasthan.The medical college run the university was ranked 5^th on the list of emerging colleges in India.The university was formerly known National Institute of Medical Sciences. It was ranked in top 10 medical univeristies in India.

The university offers courses in Medicine, Engineerng and Technology, Management and Law. The university also offers various courses in Open and Distance Learning mode.

The courses offered by the university are approved by MCI, Dental Council of India (DCI), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), Bar Council of India (BCI), Council of Architecture and Indian Nursing Council.

The admission into this university is done on the basis of the fulfillment of the eligibility criteria. The information about the admission process is made available on the official portal of the University for the ease of the students.

An entrance examination is conducted on the basis of which the students are admitted into the university. There are different examinations for the various courses available. The students need to go through the course which he/she wants to pursue.

Hostel and Facilities

NIMS University provide hostel to the students enrolled in the university. The hostel facility is available for both boys and girls. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. The food plan is included in the hostel fees. Meals are provided to each hosteller 3 (three) times in a day as well as one snack. The rooms are quite spacious and have furniture too.

The hostel has library facilities for the students, and any student can visit the library anytime of the day. The library has good amount of books to help the students in their academics.

Wi-Fi facility is provided to the students living in the hostel. There is also swimming pool and playground, which the hostellers are allowed to use.

The University organises many sports events and matches are also organised for the students of the hostel, to keep the students fit and active. Even, volleyball matches, cricket matches, basketball matches are organised by the University between the different hostels.
