Chettinad dental college and research institute(NAAC Accredited 'A' grade institution) being aglobal center of excellence in learning, teaching, research, health care and service to the community has been established in the year 2007 bythe visionary organization, Raja Sir Muthaiah Chettiar Charitable trust. Our institute is an undergraduate college with 100 BDS seats, affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr.MGR medical university, Chennai and recognized by the Dental council of India. The Chettinad Dental College and Research Institute is located in the Chettinad Health City in Kelambakkam on the Old Mahabalipuram road, otherwise known as Rajiv Gandhi Salai or the IT Highway. This stretch of road from Madhya Kailash temple on Sardar Patel road to Chettinad Health City is a 20km long toll road, with numerous hubs of the IT industry and several multinational companies located along it. It is one of the fastest growing roads in Asia, with at least 50 educational institutions and many residential complexes in the vicinity. The area between this OMR Road and GST Road is the area marked for the future expansion of Chennai.

Eligibility

To pursue MDS at CDCRI students must satisfy one of the following eligibility criteria-

1) Candidate has completed a 3 year course in BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) from a recognized university.

2) Candidate who has completed a 2 year PG diploma approved by Dental Council of India are eligible to pursue a MDS course in the same discipline.

Admission Procedure

MDS Course -

Please note that in a non-governmental institutes, 50% of the seats will be filled by management of the institute. Academic merit should be considered while granting admission under management quota. Rest 50% seats will be filled by competent authority based on the academic merit of the candidate.

Academic merit of a candidate will be determined based on the performance in competitive exam conducted by the state governemnt or competent authority or centralized competitive exam conducted at the national level.

Candidate must score at least 50% marks in the competitive exam. For SC/ST/OBC candidates the minimum percentage required is 40%.

Performance in first, second and third year of BDS exam can be considered to determine the academic eligibility of the candidate.
