Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Science is an ideal medical college at world famous pilgrim of Tirupati. This college was conceived in the year of 1986 on the lines of AIIMS New Delhi, and the foundation was laid by N.T Rama Rao, the honourable chief guest of Andhra Pradesh. The hospital started functioning from 26.2.93 by an act of A.P state legislature. This became a university in 1995 with short time duration.

SIVMS is dedicated to establishing a centre of healthcare excellence and improving the well-being of the community through medicine, medical education and research.

For running a good institute with high academic standard and for providing excellent medical education, a good modern hospital equipped with sophisticated diagnostic and therapeutic equipment’s are installed. This institute was established with the view of providing renowned facility to the poor and needy people at nominal cost. In 2006 Government of India considered SVIMS as one of the institution for up-gradation with AIIMS, NEW DELHI under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY).
