Scholarships

National Scholarship: Awarded by the Government of India to meritorious students who have secured at least 80% marks in the qualifying examination. The scholarship amount is Rs. 10,000 per annum for MBBS students and Rs. 20,000 per annum for MD students.
State Scholarship: Awarded by the Government of Assam to meritorious students who belong to SC/ST/OBC categories. The scholarship amount is Rs. 6000 per annum for MBBS students and Rs. 12,000 per annum for MD students.
Merit-cum-Means Scholarship: Awarded by the Government of India to meritorious students who belong to minority communities and whose annual family income is less than Rs. 2.5 lakh. The scholarship amount is Rs. 20,000 per annum for MBBS students and Rs. 50,000 per annum for MD students.
Post Matric Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC: Awarded by the Government of India to students who belong to SC/ST/OBC categories and whose annual family income is less than Rs. 2 lakh. The scholarship amount varies depending on the course.
Ishan Uday Scholarship: Awarded by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to students from the North Eastern Region (NER) who have secured at least 60% marks in the qualifying examination. The scholarship amount is Rs. 5400 per month for general degree courses and Rs. 7800 per month for technical/professional courses.
Scholarships from NGOs: NGOs like Ajmal Foundation also offer scholarships to needy and meritorious students of JMC.
