Dhanwate National College, Nagpur was established in 1935 and is run by Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati which is the premier academic institution in Central India. It is affiliated to Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, having Arts and Commerce faculties up to Postgraduate level, imparting instructions in English and Marathi mediums. Dhanwate National College (DNC) was founded by a faction of public-spirited citizens who recognised the need for huge prospects for University Education. It was started at Wardha in 1935 as Wasudeo Arts College and later shifted to Nagpur in 1942 renamed as National College. Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati, took over the management of this college in 1949. In the year 1951, Late Shrimant Dadasaheb Dhanwate donated generously to the society after which it was once again renamed as Dhanwate National College.

The Admission Strategy of Dhanwate National College gives ample amount of scope to all the students, transparency being one of the major aspects of the institute. WIPRO-BPO trains the selected candidates every year, in the institute premise itself, towards the employability of these students in the company. A guaranteed placement is assured after successfully completing this extensive communication skills training (4.5 months in DNC and 7.5 months in WIPRO-BPO).
