What began as an idea in July 1956 is now a premier institution for quality learning. Today Govt. College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh has earned the distinction of becoming a Post Graduate College, carrying on an enviable tradition of excellence and in academics and other co-curricular activities. The college boasts of illustrious alumni in areas ranging from academics to technology, civil services to judiciary and industry. We have excelled from every view point – the growing numbers in the classes to the qualified teaching faculty. Our standing has been validated by the University Grants Commission and our college has been accredited with an ‘A’ Grade.

The subject can be denied and consequently thestudent will be advised to change the subject Eligibility for Postgraduate courses Students who have done their graduation or any other equivalent examination with at least 50% marks are eligible for admission to M.A. I. Panjab University rules and regulations for admission will be applicable. Candidates seeking admission to M.A. in Music (Vocal / Instrumental) and Dance will be required to take a practical test at the time of admission. Students who have completed B.Sc Medical from the Panjab University or any other recognized university are eligible for admission in M.Sc as per rules and regulations of the Panjab University. Admission to M.Sc 1 (Botany, Zoology, Chemistry) will be through an entrance test OCET conducted by the Panjab University. Seats being limited, admission will be strictly on merit basis.
