Ayurvedic and Unani Tibbia College, New Delhi was established in 1921 and was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi. Affiliated to Delhi University, Ayurvedic and Unani Tibbia College is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Government of India. Ayurvedic and Unani Tibbia College holds the distinction of being the only recognized college in India, where one can study Unani medicines, medical practices and surgery at the same campus. The college was opened in Chandni Chowk, by Hakim Ajmal Khan. Government plans to convert the college into a university.

- In the beginning this college and allied units were managed by a Board established under Tibbia College Act, 1952.
- The college is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC)
- In 1973 this College got itself affiliated to University of Delhi and now offers Bachelor degrees in Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery and Unani Medicine & Surgery.
- The selection to both these courses is based on CEE (Combined Entrance Exam) of University of Delhi.
