The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Shillong, is an educational institute offering courses in fashion design. It was established in 2008. It is approved by the Ministry of Textiles Government of India.

The campus is 20 acres in size. It offers four undergraduate courses- Fashion Design, Accessory Design, Fashion Communication and Textile Design. It also provides a postgraduate course- Master of Fashion Management.

NIFT Shillong enrolls around 139 students. It is an autonomous institute and it is part of 18 NIFTs spread across the country.

Facilities include classrooms, a computer lab, a library, hostel accommodations, sports options, a cafeteria, an auditorium, Wi-Fi, transportation and medical services. Library has around 6,500 books and modern digital resources.

Admissions are based on NIFT Entrance Examination.

In rankings NIFT Shillong placed 13th among institutes in a 2022 survey by The Week. It was ranked 16th for Fashion Design by India Today in 2023.

NIFT Shillong also has a MoU with IIM Shillong.

Placements - About 90% of students secure jobs through campus placements. More than 300 companies participate in placement process. The average package is approximately 6-7 lakhs with the highest package exceeding 20 lakhs.
