Govindram Seksaria College of Commerce and Economics, Nagpur was established in 1945 by Shiksha Mandal, Wardha to fulfill the requirement of Commerce education in the region during the pre-independence period. It is the first Commerce College in the city of Nagpur and only the second in Nagpur University: the first being G. S. College of Commerce, Wardha. Having been set on course by such noted Gandhians and freedom fighters as Shri Jamnalal Bajaj and Shri Krishndas Jajoo, who founded Shiksha Mandal, the college continued to receive patronage by Seth Govindaram Seksaria, Shri Kamlnayanji Bajaj, Shri Ramkrishnaji Bajaj and host of other noble souls who shaped our existence from time to time.
The college is affiliated by Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University [RTMNU] and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The institute have successfully preserved our ideals and steadfastly kept away from all unscrupulous practices. The college have all support facilities like library, sports and laboratories.
The mission of college is to impart theoretical as well as professional instruction in different fields of commerce education, to provide all possible facilities to build up personality and character of students, to inculcate among students love for our country, national unity, and habit of social service and to develop among students the capacity to be efficient managers, responsible businessmen and administrators of high standard.

To pursue MBA at students must satisfy following eligibility criteria.
In order to secure admission to first year of two-year full time MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDM course, the candidate should fulfill the following eligibility criteria: Passed with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate ( 40% in case of candidates of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only) in any Bachelor�s degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities OR Appeared for the final year examination of any Bachelor�s degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities.
