S P Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) is a constituent private business school of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. It was established in 1981. It has been affiliated to Association of Indian Universities and Association of MBAs.

SPJIMR offers a 21 Month post graduate management programme- Post-Graduate Executive Management Programme (PGEMP) for working executives with more than 5 years of work experience.

The programme follows a modular approach. It has a convenient format with minimal absence from work place, i.e. total 60 days on campus over 21 months.

Most of the candidates of this programme are company sponsored executives from the partner companies of SPJIMR while the programme is also open to self-funded candidates.

S P Jain School of Global Management (SPJSGM) is an Australian business school. It has its campus in Dubai, Mumbai, Singapore, & Sydney. It is registered as a Higher Education Provider by the Australian Government’s national higher education regulator- the Tertiary Education Quality & Standards Agency (TEQSA).

Executive MBA course of SPJSGM aims on creating professionals who are masters of business administration in a complex global environment. The duration of the program is 18 months. The candidates must have over 5 years of working experience to apply for this course. The Hybrid learning model is used for teaching which combines online lessons, projects & face to face classes.

The course is divided into 4 segments:

  • Essentials of Management- 8 Months
  • Practice of Management- 6 Months
  • Cross-Functional Management- 2 Months
  • Applied Business Research- 2 Months

ADMISSION & APPLICATION PROCEDURE

The following documents need to be submitted for applying-

  • Sponsorship/forwarding letter from the employers (even if the applicant is self-funded)
  • Copies of graduation mark sheet, post-graduation mark sheet, and professional course certificate (Candidates without a post-graduation or professional course degree can also apply)
  • Local cheque/DD/PO of Rs.1200/- in favour of S.P Jain Institute of Management & Research

The applications need to be sent to- Admissions in charge, PGEMP, 4th Floor, SPJIMR, Munshi Nagar, Dadabhai Road, Andheri West, Mumbai- 400 058, India.

SELECTION PROCESS:

The selection process comprises of 3 rounds-

  1. IQ & Psychometric Test
  2. Group Discussion
  3. Personal Interview

This process is carried out at the Mumbai campus and is around half a day long. The process is coordinated through the HR department for the applicants of partner companies.

The evaluation of students is done on the basis of an aptitude test, an essay and a personal interview.

Two or three days after the evaluation, candidates are informed about their application status i.e accepted waitlist or rejected. Selected candidates get an offer letter which mentions the date before which they need to register.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The eligibility criteria are the same for both the courses. It is as follows-

  • Bachelor Degree: This is a post graduate program; therefore the applicant must be a university graduate. Applicants with relevant postgraduate qualifications are given preference. For example, Chartered Accountants for Finance stream.
  • Work Experience: The applicants must have a full time work experience of more than 5 years.
  • Overall Profile: Candidates will be selected on the basis of their overall profile which includes their educational qualifications, academic records, work experience, professional achievements, test and a personal interview

  • Financial Markets: This elective subject provides candidates a complete knowledge of structure, operation & regulation governing global finance systems. Candidates are made familiar with macroeconomic concepts like equity, mortgage, bond, currencies and the banking system.
  • Portfolio Management: This subject makes students understand the portfolio theories and gives them an insight of market efficiency hypothesis, portfolio optimisation, mean variance analysis, asset pricing models, and risk diversification.
  • Project Finance: This subject makes students understand how to use finance structuring and risk mitigation to fund capital intensive projects. It involves concepts like sources of capital, technology, sponsors, risk identification, SPV and use of financial modelling.
