Oriental University by Oriental group is a foremost education group in Madhya Pradesh. It was founded in 1995 by Sri K.L. Thakral. It has been accorded the status of the university under the University Grants Commission (UGC) act of 1956 in 2011.

The University campus is spread over 100 acres on the Indore Ujjain highway. It is first of its kind self-funded university in Madhya Pradesh. It provides undergraduate, post graduate, doctoral, vocational and diploma courses in various departments and fields as listed as follows.

The admission to engineering undergraduate course is done through Joint entrance examination (JEE) conducted by CBSE. The GPAT (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test) has to be taken for pharmacy related post graduate course.

For admission in post graduate course in engineering field GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) has to be qualified. For other courses, the marks obtained in the qualifying paper forms the criterion for admission.

Admission Procedure

The Admission process is different for each different course. Details are given below:

For Undergraduate courses

For admission in graduation courses, students should fulfill the minimum eligibility that is 10+2 in science stream with compulsory subjects as required.

Students need to clear Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) that is conducted by CBSE. Selected students will be called for other round of admission.

For Postgraduate courses

For admission in post graduate courses, students should fulfill the minimum eligibility that is graduation with minimum 50%.

Students need to clear the entrance exams such as GATE and GPAT. Selected students will be called for group discussion and personal interview.

Hostel and Facilities

CAMPUS FACILITIES

The campus is spread over 100 acres.

The university is equipped with proper gym for both girls and boys and has sports complex, shuttle system, library, labs, bank, canteen, mess, medical center and WIFI connectivity. The university has activity and guest-house too.

HOSTEL

University provides hostels for boys and girls with separate rooms with 24 hours water and electricity supply. Each hostel can accommodate 1500 students.

STUDENT LIFE

Smart India hackathon is one the competition conducted and hosted by the university.

Atharva is a celebration organized by the university that focuses on Indio-Western culture in which student are awarded in their field of excellence.

University has one Microsoft innovation center club under which all the workshops and seminars are conducted for students and have an entrepreneur celltoo.

University organizes industrial visit too.

For mechanical students there, a club called inceptor cell to conduct events for mech students.
