About Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur:
Indira Gandhi Agricultural University established in the year 1987 on 20th of January. It is a non-profit autonomous research and educational organisation which is fighting for the upliftment oflivelihood of farmers of Chhattisgarh. It is been formed in the remembrance of Smt Indira Gandhi,late Prime Minister of India. It is formed to undertake few activities like Education, Research and Extension which are coordinated through agriculture, veterinary, dairy and agricultural engineering faculties and Directorates of instruction, research and extension. It has got grant in aid from ICAR, State Government and international agencies and about 13 private colleges got affiliated to the university along with 14 government agriculture colleges.
