Government Medical College, Akola was established in 2002. It is the first medical college in the Akola region.
College is affiliated with Maharashtra University of Health Sciences Nashik. The Medical Council of India recognizes it. The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses. MBBS program is flagship course with an annual intake of 200 seats. Faculty team includes around 80 teachers.
Postgraduate courses cover many subjects like Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, ENT surgery, Preventive and Social Medicine, Pharmacology, Pathology and Microbiology.
Facilities provided by college include lecture theatres, hostels, a library, an auditorium, cafeteria and outpatient/inpatient services. Admissions for undergraduate and postgraduate courses are based on NEET UG and NEET PG respectively. National Medical Commission approves college.
