Government College Of Engineering And Research Pune

The Government College of Engineering and Research Avasari is a public institute established in June 2009. The Government of Maharashtra established this college to promote technical education in rural Maharashtra.

Campus covers an area of 50 acres. It includes academic buildings, administrative offices, workshops and faculty housing. The college offers six undergraduate degree courses- Automobile Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Civil Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The B.Tech program is the flagship course.

The college has more than 360 students. It is affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University. It provides separate hostels for boys and girls each accommodating 180 students. The hostels include a gymnasium and operates on a merit basis for seat allocation. College library contains 17,500 books and accommodates 100 students. It also offers good internet connectivity.

Admissions require scores from the MHT CET and JEE Main exams. College has approval from All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). It received accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for its Automobile and Mechanical Engineering programs until 2024-25.

College ranked #141 out of 170 in India in 2023 according to India Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF). 

Placements - More than100 students were placed in the 2021-2022 academic year. Students secured positions at multinational companies like Wipro and Infosys.
