MAEER's Maharashtra Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (MIMSR), Latur was established in 1990 under Maharashtra Academy of Engineering & Education Research (MAEER). The Medical College was started in a small portion of Rajarshi Shahu College, with an annual intake of 100 students for undergraduate Medical course. The college is recognized by Medical Council of India in 1997 and is affiliated to M.U.H.S., Nashik for undergraduate studies and for PG degrees and diplomas, which are being started from 2007.

The college also encourages research work from its staff and students.
• Laboratories: The College has got a computer lab configured with latest operating systems, mathematics and statistics lab, electronics lab, commerce lab and a mass communication and journalism lab equipped with requisite equipments and apparatus such that each student can perform experiments individually.

• Library: The College has a vast library jammed with around 13,000 volumes of 5200 title of books and 209 journals, both of national and international repute. The library also consists of a digital section with 30 computers to provide online access to e-books, journal any other medico stuff. The library also facilitates reprographic facilities and a reading room.
• Internet Centre: There is a dedicated Internet centre connected to broadband through a structured network is available to its students and staff to facilitate high-speed internet surfing. Printing facility is also available.
• Scholarship: The College provides scholarship to its meritorious students.

Admission Process :-

Admission process in MIMSR Medical College Latur is strictly as per the guidelines issued from time to time by the Govt. of Maharashtra and MUHS, Nashik. Govt. of Maharashtra and the Director of Medical Education and Research issue State / National Level notification regarding the process of admission before the admissions start.

The admission to the UG & PG courses are completely transparent and strictly in accordance with the merit list of Govt. CET conducted by Director of Medical Education and Research, who is the competent authority in Maharashtra. The merit listed students are allotted the college by the competent authority. The college has, as such, no control over the admission process. However, the overall admissions are finally effected and enrolled at the MIMSR Medical College as per the merit list of the students sent by the competent authority of Govt. of Maharashatra.

A Common Entrance Test is conducted by the Government every year for UG and PG courses. The State Government ensures complete transparency in the entire admission process. Students as well as members of the general public are free to access all the necessary information connected to the admission process from the relevant websites of the government. As such, the Institution follows the guidelines and the students who are selected by the competent authority are admitted without any bias. Students (15%) approaching for NRI / management quota are selected based on their merit and the list of the selected students is displayed prominently on the notice boards.
