The Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (MGIMS) is located in Wardha in Maharashtra. It is recognized as India's first rural medical college. MGIMS was established in 1969 by Kasturba Health Society.

The institute is situated in Sevagram, a significant location for Mahatma Gandhi. Initially it was affiliated with Nagpur University but became affiliated with Maharashtra University of Health Sciences in 1998.

MGIMS primarily offers an MBBS program as its flagship course. It also provides MD and MS courses in many specializations, diploma courses and PhD programs. The institute admits 100 students annually for the MBBS program.
