College Of Engineering Poonjar Kottayam

College of Engineering, Poonjar is a private university founded in 2000 by Institute of Human Resources Development. This institute is approved by Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) and APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University.

The college offers courses in undergraduate programs as well as post graduate programs. The courses are offered in ECE, EEE, CSE, ME, and Applied Sciences.

The college campus is spread across wide area which includes well infrastructure seminar hall, AC class rooms, an auditorium, Health Facility, a library, hostels for boys and girls, canteen, sport grounds and Laboratories.

The admissions for students undertaking UG programs are done on the basis of marks scored in 12^th standard, while for the students taking PG programs admissions are done on the basis of percentage scored in respective UG programs.

How to apply

The admission process takes place online. For admission to their B.Tech courses the students need to apply for the KEAM examination. Candidates have to apply online to register themselves for the exam. They have to go to the official website –

www.cee.kerala.gov.in and create a unique ID. Using this ID the candidates have to log in and fill the form online. They have to upload relevant documents and pay the application fee to complete the applying.

The application fee is Rs. 700/- (Rs. 300/- for SC and ST are exempted from paying). Payment can be made via online method such as net banking/ credit card/ debit card as well as E-Challan where the candidate can take printout of the challan and make cash payment at any head/ sub post office in Kerala.

The candidate has to take the print out of the completed form and send it for CEE verification along with required documents.

The admission to the M.Tech course requires the candidate’s GATE scores.

• 10+2 mark sheets
• Mark sheet of qualifying exam for UG degree + self attested copies of all semester mark sheets

Hostel and Facilities

Hostel

College of Engineering, Poonjar has hostel facilities only for girl students. Male students have to take up accommodation in PG’s near the college campus. “NILA” the girls hostel is run by the P T A of the college. The hostel provides accommodation facility to 120 students.

The hostel works on cost sharing basis and the menu for mess is prepared by the Hostel Committee of the students. Wi-Fi facility is available and students can access internet during the time fixed and also can take print outs, if necessary. The college also uses solar power as an additional source of power supply.

Campus Facilities

The college has a massive central library with a collection of 5000 volumes 25 journals and 10 periodicals. The carpet area of the library is 100 square metres. Working hours of the library is from 9am-6pm.

Internet Lab is equipped with a collection of 114 PC’s and provides 24 hrs Broad Band internet facilities in the campus for achieving the ‘Ultimate Resource of Education’.

The bus service provided by the college runs 6 trips each to two directions in and around Erattupetta. The buses will starts from the college to Poonjar and also to Erattupetta in the 2 trips.
