Government Engineering College (GECI) Idukki

The Government Engineering College, Idukki (GECI) is located in Painavu, Idukki district. It was established in 2000 and functions under Directorate of Technical Education Government of Kerala. Campus spans 25 acres.

GECI is a government-funded institute. It is affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University and is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

College offers programs in Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) and Master of Technology (M.Tech). B.Tech specializations include Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering. M.Tech programs include VLSI & Embedded Systems, Computer Science & Systems Engineering, Power Electronics & Control and Network Engineering.

GECI has 1,200+ students and 60+ faculty members resulting in a faculty-to-student ratio of approximately 1-16. College features a library with 12,000 books and access to 36 national and international journals. Also, it offers well-equipped labs and a central computing facility. 

For admissions GECI requires scores from Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) exam for B.Tech programs. It considers Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) scores for M.Tech admissions.

Placements - College maintains an active Career Guidance & Placement Cell (CGPC). Popular recruiting companies include Wipro, Qburst, Experian and TCS.
