The year 1997 is a landmark year in the educational map of the Industrial Town of Tirupur. It was the year in which the NIFT-TEA KNITWEAR FASHION INSTITUTE was established by the Tirupur Exporters’ Association under the dynamic leadership of Padmasri A.Sakthivel, Father of Tirupur Exports in collaboration with SSI & ARI, Ministry of Industry, Govt.of India, New Delhi and the industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India Ltd., Mumbai.

Now the Institute stands tall in between SIDCO and TAHDCO offering post graduate programmes and undergraduate programmes which are affiliated to the Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. The college is ably managed by a young team of Exporters under the dynamic leadership of Sri. CM. N. Muruganandan who has the vision to take this Institute to the highest level, offering all infrastructure facilities and making this college into a world renowned academic centre of excellence. With visionary zeal his deputies, Sri. E. Palanisamy and Sri. P. Moghan are ably assisting him. In a short period the glorious vision of achieving global recognition for this academic Institute is far off.

Mission

The college was started with the noble aim of providing well trained personnel to the Knitwear Industry. These trained professionals with their expertise and technical skill will be the back bone of the Export Industry and bring a sort of discipline and scientific approach for the growth and development of the knitwear industry in and around this Dollar town.
