Government College of Engineering is a government college which was established in the year 1966. It is located in Salem, Tamil Nadu. It is affiliated to the Anna University, Chennai and has been approved by the AICTE.
The campus is well built with Hostels, Labs, Industrial Training Centres, Auditoriums, Medical Centres, Research and Development Centre, Cooperative Stores, Library, Mess etc.
The college offers 6 undergraduate and 5 postgraduate courses in B.E., M.E.

The admission criteria are merit-based and the marks of class 12th will be considered. The score of Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) entrance exam will be given preference.
Students are welcome to participate in the Fine Arts, Leo, Rotaract, Science Association, NSS and Sports clubs. The college also runs a special platform called the “I Cube” where students and renowned professionals interact on various topics.
