Symbiosis Institute Of Design (SID) Pune

The Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) is located in Viman Nagar in Pune. It was established in 2004. SID is part of Symbiosis International University. It is a private institute with approval from University Grants Commission (UGC).

SID offers a Bachelor of Design (B.Des) degree with four specializations- Communication Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design and Fashion Communication. The B.Des in Communication Design is the flagship course.

Institute provides facilities like design studios, laboratories, workshops and IT infrastructure. It also has a library, exhibition areas, seminar hall and conference hall. Recreational facilities include an amphitheater, sports facilities, a gymnasium and yoga and aerobics centers.

Admission to B.Des program is based on merit from Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED). This exam is conducted by the institute. SID has received an 'A' grade accreditation from National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

In 2023, SID was ranked 3rd among Emerging Design Colleges by India Today and 3rd among Private Design Institutes in India by Outlook Magazine I-Care. 

Institute also has an International Cell to manage student exchange and study abroad programs. 

SID has an active placement cell  - Highest placement package is INR 12 LPA.
