PET Engineering College (PETEC) is a private college which was established in 1998. It is affiliated to the Anna University and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education. It is also an ISO certified institution (9001-2008).

The college undergraduate and postgraduate courses under the following departments:

• Department of Civil Engineering
• Department of Computer Science and Engineering
• Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering
• Department of Mechanical Engineering
• Department of Master of Computer Applications

The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions Regulations are followed for admission into both courses. For admission into undergraduate courses passing marks in the average of Math, Physics and Chemistry are needed.

For postgraduate courses passing marks in the relevant bachelor’s degree is required. The TNCET entrance exam is consulted for different courses.

The institute also provides different facilities on the campus such as library, computer lab, language lab, hostels and transportation. Almost 80% of the students are recruited every year by companies such as TCS, Berezia Technology, Infosys and Samudra.

Application and Admission Procedure

How to apply:

Offline mode: The interested candidates who want to get admission through management quota need to obtain the application form from the college office by paying Rs 300 in person or through DD of Rs 350/. They need to submit the duly filled up form along with the required documents to the college office in person or via post/courier.

Online mode: The candidates seeking admission through normal way need to fill up the application form through Anna University admission portal. After filling up the application form they need to upload the scanned copies of required documents, make the payment through electronic gateways and submit the form.

Admission Procedure:

Selection for this college offered UG and PG programmes is based on TNEA counselling.

For management quota, the interested candidates need to appear in an entrance test conducted by this college.

Hostel and Facilities

Hostel

The boys hostel has 91 rooms and can accommodate 348 students. The girls hostel 67 rooms with students intake of 286.

Hostels have separate canteens with hygienic boiler. Rooms are allotted on shared basis. Hostellers are provided with kitchen equipment like Atta kneader, vegetable cutting machine etc.

Other facilities available to hostellers include-

Campus Facilities

The college has a canteen which primarily serves South Indian food and packed items at subsidized rates. There is a language lab where students can obtain certificates from Cambridge University through collaboration of the college and British Council.
